I was very skeptical that my dog would be able to improve due to her age, mobility issues, and severity of her reactivity but she is like a different dog. She now can walk past other others without any reaction. Working with Pepe is one of the best choices I could have made. He is so kind and knowledgeable and even included his own dog in the training so my dog could get more comfortable being around another dog for prolonged periods of time. I highly recommend Pepe to anyone struggling with all the uniquely NYC dog issues.

Pepe Hernandez of PJH Dog Training is a MIRACLE WORKER. I adopted a severely traumatized and off-the-charts anxious dog just over a year ago. When I brought him home, my pup could not walk on a leash, he was highly reactive to any sudden noise or movement, and he barked/screamed at all other animals. After working with Dr. Hernandez, I now have a Manhattan-ready dog who has mastered all basic commands, knows how to self-regulate when stressed, and actually enjoys walks! Dr. Hernandez worked to understand my dog's specific brand of dysregulation and to custom-tailor our training work to my dog's unique (and very intense) needs. Dr. Hernandez also did a phenomenal job of training the humans, to make sure we had the techniques we needed to get my little guy to a better place. Did I mention he's a miracle worker? Because he is. I cannot recommend PJH highly enough!

I cannot recommend PJH Dog Training enough! Pepe is GREAT - super attentive, thoughtful, patient, goal-directed, and incredibly knowledgable. My wife and I were struggling with our dog's reactivity since moving to NYC, and Pepe was instrumental in helping us (and our dog) adjust. He not only taught us real time skills and tricks, but he also taught us why we were doing them. After just four sessions, I felt more confident as a dog owner and we were seeing the results in our dog. My only regret is not hiring PJH Dog Training sooner!

Pepe is fantastic! One of the biggest challenges with Pablo is that he's usually very wary of people he doesn't know, but he was comfortable with Pepe from the very first session. That immediate trust made a huge difference in the training process.
I originally reached out to Pepe because I had an upcoming trip and was anxious about traveling with Pablo. In just five sessions, the transformation was remarkable. Pablo learned to settle calmly in his carrier and handled crowded airports like a champ. From getting him comfortable on the subway to improving his basic manners and leash skills, Pepe helped us make more progress in a few weeks than I thought possible.
Pepe is knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly effective. Thanks to his help, Pablo is much more confident, and so am I. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer!
