As we start another upland season I want to say thank you to Phillips Gun Dogs for FOUR amazing Shorthairs. Our 3 older dogs (3-6 YO) are all AKC Master Hunters, with the youngest 8 month old puppy coming along very nicely. While relocating, our dogs stayed with Chad; he and his family took wonderful care of the dogs. All were given refresher training; they are steady to fall and retrieve to hand consistently. Not only was I completely confident in Chad’s ability as a trainer to produce dogs that are competitive on the bird field, but are amazing and productive hunters. Our dogs came home to us well cared for, healthy and ready for the season. Chad’s experience and knowledge are extensive and he always does right by his clients and dogs. He’s continued to be a resource for me, answering questions and providing guidance. Chad is a responsible breeder, breeding dogs that are highly intelligent with incredible prey drive. He’s an excellent trainer, meeting requests of the handler and the training needs of the dog. He maintains an open and ongoing dialog with clients while dogs are in his care. I have known and used Chad Phillips (Phillips Gun Dogs LLC) for the last 8 years. My wife Purchased a German Shorthaired Pointer from him for a graduation gift for me. We couldn't be happier with the way Chad helped us and answered all the questions we had for him. Our first dog from him was a perfect hunting dog and also did very well with our little kids. Last year we purchased a second GSP puppy from him. He also trained her for upland birds. I could not be happier with the performance of our dog. She just turned one and this is her first hunting season. She points, retrieves, and listens to commands very well in the field. She is not just a hunting dog, she is also a best friend to our two little girls when she is not in the field. His dogs make a great hunting dog and an even better pet for our young kids. He has been there for us before and after getting the dog from him. He has been very responsive to email/text/phone with any questions we have and he is always willing to help. I have nothing but great things to say about him and our experience of working with him. I have recommended him to friends and family, and I will continue to do so.

I have used Phillips Gun Dogs to train my GSPs for the last 8 years, we have always trusted leaving our dogs with Chad and his whole family. They have gone above and beyond with communication and outlining training progression. Chad brought out my GSP’s instincts, enhanced my dogs handling, and has helped me along the way with reinforcing techniques. My family lives 7 hours away from his facility, but it’s worth the trip every time. His work and attention to detail is evident each time we take the field with our hunting dogs.
