Pet-U-Cation Training & Rehabilitation Services, LLC

Pet-U-Cation Training & Rehabilitation is an outstanding training facility. I am really surprised how much I have learned over the past few months. I have been around dogs my entire life and our new rescue pup is not our first dog....I initially enrolled her here because I thought she needed to be around other dogs for socialization and training....but it turns out I didn't even have a true understanding of what socialization means for dogs :-) If you choose this facility, it is not just a class you take your dog to once a week. Their facebook groups offer a wealth of information. It is filled with videos, pictures, questions, answers, articles and more. If you choose one of their obedience classes, their trainers will challenge you with video homework assignments. When you post the videos, they can see you and your dog in your normal environment and provide tips to help if you are struggling or praise to reinforce that you are getting it right. I am learning how to be a better owner and handler everyday. I am very grateful to Pet-U-Cation for that. My pup has come a long way since we started at Pet-U-Cation a few months ago.....she still has a way to go, but we are steadily moving towards those goals together and I couldn't be happier with this facility.

When I got Rhea I knew she was going to be a big dog because of the size of her paws... and then the paws kept growing!! She grew a little too fast for my training ability to keep up and it was clear she would quickly become a little too much for me to handle without some really good, clear boundaries, rules, and training. She’s made so much progress in her class at PUC and we aren’t even done yet! And, more importantly, PUC has helped train ME to know how to set good guidelines for Rhea so she can live her best life. Which she definitely does, every day.

I had actually printed out the paperwork to return Brink to BARCS and left it on my desk. The malnourished dog we brought home from BARCS who was calm, quiet, non-reactive and slept in a crate had become healthy and brought with him a whole host of problems that neither my Girlfriend or I were equipped to deal with. He would scream and bite his crate from the time we left until we came back, that was after we added multiple clips to it because he broke out. Would make a mess in his crate within minutes of us leaving. Brink was destructive in the home and had already visited the vet once for a foreign body. And if he saw another dog all bets were off and you would think we were beating him with how loud he would scream and he did not have the ability to work through it and return back to normal for a long time after the dog was gone. Brink was causing considerable strain on our relationship that was only compounded by him being kicked out of the SPCA’s obedience class when another dog charged him and I had made the choice to fill out the paperwork to send him back because I was at a loss and thought we would never be able to help him. Enter PUC. Savannah and her team had worked with our previous dog, Megatron for a short time while he was in a foster home and my Girlfriend asked me to give them the chance to help him. I agreed uneasily at the thoughts of e-collars and choker chains, weapons against my dog is how I viewed them. After sometime at PUC I began to realize that like all tools if used appropriately they can enhance Brink’s life and allow him to learn and do things that would not have been possible otherwise. These days Brink has like maybe, one friend. (Thanks Amdi!) Maybe. Like if dogs could be saints she would be well on her way. But that’s 100% more friends than he would have ever had otherwise and i’m thankful that I was pushed to give Brink one more chance. I can’t imagine our lives without him now. You guys truly saved him and we are forever grateful. Brink hiking with his friends!

We have sent our dog here for almost a year now. He was a reactive dog who we rescued and needed help with. Savannah and her team go above and beyond to accommodate every single dog that comes their way. Our dog has now graduated from on site rehabilitation full days, to half days with regular daycare as well. The extensive services they offer from Sunday wellness, canine good citizen, e collar training, and just regular day care and behavioral rehab services make them the best. We are so grateful to have found PuC. We highly recommend anyone with a dog to send their dog here.
