Kiera is, quite simply, an extraordinary dog trainer. She understands not only what a dog needs, but also how to teach the person at the other end of the leash. When I rescued Penny, she was deeply traumatized. We believe she may have been very mistreated, used as a puppy-mill breeding dog and then abandoned on the streets. She was frightened of everything--people, noises, movement, and even eye contact. She was so withdrawn and afraid that she hid under our table, and for weeks I could not even get near her. I loved her, but I had no idea how to reach her or help her feel safe. Then Kiera came into our lives. Week after week for the past ten months, she has patiently guided me, encouraged me, and taught me how to understand Penny and slowly earn her trust. Kiera never rushed Penny or forced her beyond what she could handle. She recognized and celebrated every tiny step forward and helped me see that those seemingly small moments were actually enormous victories. The transformation has been remarkable. Penny is now a happy little dog who trusts me, seeks affection, and has even taken her first walks outside--something I once wondered if she would ever be able to do. Kiera did not simply teach Penny commands; she helped a frightened, broken little dog discover that she was finally safe and loved. At the same time, she gave me the knowledge, patience, and confidence to become the person Penny needed. Kiera truly changed both Penny’s life and mine. I will be forever grateful to her, and I cannot recommend her highly enough --especially to anyone caring for a fearful, traumatized, or rescue dog. She is compassionate, intuitive, endlessly patient, and truly gifted at what she does. Kiera gave Penny a second chance at happiness, and there is no greater gift than that.

We loved working with Keira! She helped our new rescue pup that had fear-based aggression feel calmer and more settled in our home. She focuses on educating owners and helped us to realize we were pushing our pup a little beyond his comfort zone. When we started taking things at his pace, he was such a quick learner. I never would have had the patience to do that without Keira's guidance! She is very knowledgeable on all things dog-related.

We’ve seen meaningful progress in training with our dog Coco and the sessions have given us confidence to continue working with Coco between meetings. We worked with Keira a few years ago when we first adopted our dog, Tazz. He was our first family dog, so we were a little clueless, and he was also a rescue with some anxiety and big puppy energy. Keira was wonderful from the start. She came to our house and walked us through practical exercises we could use with him, especially for his separation anxiety. She helped us understand how to slowly introduce the crate and build up the amount of time we could leave him alone, starting with tiny steps and gradually increasing from there. She also taught us how to better read Tazz’s body language and understand what he was trying to communicate. Keira also gave us tools to help with jumping when people came into the house, plus ideas to keep him mentally engaged through sniffing, puzzles, and enrichment. She was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and made us feel much more confident during a very overwhelming transition. I also really appreciated that, even years later and even though we are not current clients, she took the time to respond to an email about a current issue with Tazz. She offered guidance, a specialist recommendation, and even shared helpful tips on nutrition and weight management. Keira is truly a gem, and we honestly would not have made it through the beginning with Tazz without her. I highly recommend Pet Project Training!
