Pawsitive Beginnings Dog Training

This company probably has a fantastic product, however I did not pursue Lateria’s services. My feedback is strictly based on a consultation I was forced into having just to learn what her fees are for boarding. I was referred to Lateria bc I was in a bind and needed to board my dog so I could go out of town. I contacted her and was advised she offers training alongside boarding & I'd need to have a $25 consult for the 2 combined services. I asked her what her fees were. She said I'd get that information during our consult. I clarified with her via text that the only way I would know her fees is to pay $25 for the consult. Bc I was in a bind I proceeded with the consult since I already had an idea what her boarding fees were as I mentioned I was a referral. When we get on the consult, I shared my displeasure about having to pay $25 upfront just to know what her fees are. We proceed & maybe 2 minutes into the consult (probably less than that) she hits me with the $200 mandatory in home training consult fee. Keep in mind that at this time my main concern was boarding only. Now I'm annoyed bc she makes you pay the $25 consult fee up front just so that you can get her fees. Not even that deep into the consult she tells me about a ridiculously high training fee. Now I feel like her tactic is similar to that of an illegal bait and switch. At that point, she already had my money, so I wanted to proceed with the consult. Still annoyed with her method the next day, I reached out and asked her to refund my money bc I should not be forced into paying $25 just to know what your boarding fees are, only to be informed that I also have to do a mandatory $200 in home training for a product I wasn’t requesting at that moment. I understand that may be a fair price for that service, however I made it clear that training was not what I was most in need of at that moment. If I had been looking for a trainer, I may have been ok with that, and may have even expected that price. But I wasn’t & didn’t. I think that a more ethical approach would be to consider a different approach for someone that has clearly communicated they are not requesting training. Nonetheless, she refused to refund my funds, so I wanted to share my experience with Lateria.

Pawsitive Beginnings has been wonderful for us and Snickers. Lateria has done wonders with Snickers over the past few months. Snickers responds very well to her. Lateria works with Snickers and us during training. Snickers started as an anxious puppy with anxious owners. We have come so far with the help of Lateria and Pawsitive Beginnings. We definitely recommend. This review is Snickers approved!
