Paws On The Ground Dog Training

Absolutely the best decision we made for our dog! We spoke with several trainers before finding Paws on the Ground, and none of them felt right—until we met Kristin and Corey in St. Petersburg. They immediately made us feel safe and supported. Our dog Beatrice is a rescue, and I was so nervous to send her to a board and train, worried she might feel abandoned again. But from the moment we dropped her off, they treated her like their own—sweet voices, gentle pets, and so much kindness. They kept us updated with pictures and messages (which I loved!), and the difference in Bea after training is incredible. Before, she pulled hard on walks, jumped on us constantly, and tried to dart out the door. Now she walks beautifully on a loose leash, rarely jumps, and waits patiently at the door. She still has her happy, quirky personality—just in a much more manageable way! The fact that they offer free lifetime refreshers and training tune-ups during boarding is such a bonus. I was hesitant about the cost, but now that I’ve seen the results, I’d do it all over again. If you’re thinking about training with Kristin and Corey—go for it. You won’t regret it!

We couldn’t be happier with the incredible work this team did with our chocolate lab puppy! From the moment we walked through the door, they were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about dogs. Our pup went from a wild ball of energy to a well-behaved, happy, and confident little guy—without losing his sweet personality. They used positive reinforcement techniques that really worked, and they took the time to explain everything to us so we could keep up the training at home. The transformation was honestly unbelievable. He walks on a leash like a pro now, responds to commands, and has even stopped jumping on guests! The trainers were professional, patient, and clearly love what they do. We’re beyond grateful and would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to train their dog the right way. Worth every penny!

My husband and I put our very energetic Lab, Dexter in the two week board and train with Kellen. We had the expectation that Dexter would be trained to control his excitement so we could help him with his anxiety and kellen did just that! We never had to question what Dexter was up to because Kellen kept very good communication with us throughout the full two weeks with pictures and videos. He was very upfront and honest about Dexters progress whether it was how well he was learning or if he was struggling in some areas. Overall we feel as if we got a new dog (in the best way possible). The training taught dexter some much needed structure and leash manners. He's learned how to channel his energy and excitement In ways that has allowed him to be much less anxious! Thank you Kellen for having our happy boy and training him so well! Bonus! We also got taught how to properly portion food for Dexter so he could stay at a healthy happy weight! Sadly, since boarding with Paws On the Ground we’ve moved away. However, we still take every chance we can get to board Dex with them when taking trips down South. We’ve also reached out multiple times for advice and have gotten responses very fast! I highly recommend to board your fur babies with Paws on The Ground!
