Paws Down Dog Training offers balanced dog training, board and train programs, private lessons, and behavior modification serving North Peoria, North Phoenix, and parts of Glendale AZ. Specializing in obedience training, leash training, puppy training, crate training, reactivity, impulse control, and off leash reliability for dogs of all ages and backgrounds. Unlike large facilities, your dog trains in a real home environment with hands on daily work and never spends time in a kennel. I only take two dogs at a time so your dog always has my full attention. Training is a partnership , I work with you and your dog so the results last long after our time together ends. How long does it take to train a dog or puppy?
It depends on the dog or puppy's age, breed, and the behavior being trained. Basic obedience can take a few weeks to a few months, while advanced behavioral issues and engrained bad habits can take longer. It is also very important that the owners follow through with the strategies learned during the training sessions. If bad behaviors get to continue in the trainer's absence, training will take longer.

How much does dog training cost?
Private dog or puppy training sessions are $120/hour. There are discounts for purchasing 3 or 6 lesson packages. The amount of sessions needed will vary depending on the dog's specific issues that need to be resolved and the amount of follow through from the owner outside of lessons.

Can you fix bad behaviors in older dogs?
Absolutely! Older dogs can certainly learn new behaviors. It may take longer than with puppies due to the length of time the bad habits have been part of the dog's daily routine. With consistency and patience however, dogs of any age can be taught proper manners!

We 3 (puppy included) received sensible, achievable guidance to insure appropriate puppy boundaries, behavior and socialization. Her guidance was easy for us to follow through with and it all worked. Almost instantly! We are extremely happy with our decision to enlist Rachel. Money well spent. We look forward to connecting and sharing our puppy’s development in the future. She’s the best!
After just one session our 70 lbs Doodle was pulling less and checking in more. Rachael gave me the confidence and tips to be consistent and inspired me to keep practicing!
Rachel has done an amazing job helping us learn the tools to help our stranger danger pup! I appreciate how she learned about P, us, and our home, and tailored the training to our specific needs. She is incredibly patient, explains things very well and is our biggest cheerleader. I am so thankful we found Rachel and have learned so many great skills from her!!
