Paws Down Dog Training

I met Rachael after adopting my dog from a rescue. He is about a year old and poor guy has been through a lot. He is high energy and requires a lot of attention and training. I have only had him for a little over 3 months and have been working with Rachael for a little less than that. It is AMAZING the amount of progress we have made working with her! She is knowledgeable, kind, clear with her direction and most importantly, she really cares about what is best for me and my dog. ❤️🥰 I am so grateful for her!! She is patient and encouraging as this is the first time I have ever done real training with a dog. I highly recommend her services!

Rachel is the best After interviewing and using 3 different dog trainers, we were referred to Rachel’s Paws Down Dog Training. What a wonderful experience! We rescued a large mixed breed Pitty, who was at a rescue for several years. His social skills were poor, he dragged us down the street when walking him, he thought he was the boss, and he had a strong prey drive. He was a handful, but also a loving dog that we adored. We started with 3 sessions after she evaluated our dog. Every session we learned something new. Rachel’s methods made sense. She rewarded him with some treats, but didn’t bribe him into behaving with the use of treats, she used praise and attention. Our dog loves her!! She is gentle but yet firm, she taught us as much as she taught our dog. She emphasizes playing with your dog, working on the techniques she presents. I believe you have to practice what she teaches you. She worked with us in our home, in our neighborhood, in the park, and in Home Depot. She showed us how to get him to calm down when someone new came into our home. She advised a prong collar, which one to buy, and when and how to use it, without hurting him. With the prong collar his leash manners are much, much improved. Our dog now knows basic commands, and he will do these commands without bribing him with a treat. After the first 3 sessions, we were so happy with his progress, we signed up for another 3 sessions. I found her prices reasonable, and turned out to be priceless in the end

We cannot say enough great things about Rachael! She has completely exceeded our expectations. Rachael started working with our Golden Retriever puppy, Mila, when she was just 4 months old, and the progress has been incredible. Mila is now such a well-behaved, confident, and happy puppy thanks to Rachael’s patient, knowledgeable, and consistent training methods. Rachael goes above and beyond—she’s always available to answer our (many!) questions and helps us fine-tune every aspect of Mila’s training. She has even helped us with our 9-year-old Mini Aussie, offering personalized guidance that’s made a big difference for her too. Rachael is professional, kind, and truly passionate about what she does. We couldn’t recommend her more highly—she’s simply the best! 👏🏻

Rachael is simply amazing! When we first reached out to her we needed help with basic commands but most importantly, with how our pup addressed new people when they came into our home. We were lost and everything we were trying wasn’t working. From the first meet and greet she provided us with so much hope and a solid plan and in just over 1 month, we have noticed tremendous progress. I truly cannot thank her enough for improving all of our quality of life together. She provided us with all the tools we need to be confident- we are so grateful for her! She is also so supportive and responsive in between sessions which we found really helpful as we were learning just as much as our pup. She is timely, affordable, and just really kind to both humans and dogs. You can really tell she loves what she does and is passionate about helping you and your dogs live better together.
