Paws Down Dog Training offers balanced dog training, board and train programs, private lessons, and behavior modification serving North Peoria, North Phoenix, and parts of Glendale AZ. Specializing in obedience training, leash training, puppy training, crate training, reactivity, impulse control, and off leash reliability for dogs of all ages and backgrounds. Unlike large facilities, your dog trains in a real home environment with hands on daily work and never spends time in a kennel. I only take two dogs at a time so your dog always has my full attention. Training is a partnership , I work with you and your dog so the results last long after our time together ends. How long does it take to train a dog or puppy?
It depends on the dog or puppy's age, breed, and the behavior being trained. Basic obedience can take a few weeks to a few months, while advanced behavioral issues and engrained bad habits can take longer. It is also very important that the owners follow through with the strategies learned during the training sessions. If bad behaviors get to continue in the trainer's absence, training will take longer.

Private dog or puppy training sessions are $120/hour. There are discounts for purchasing 3 or 6 lesson packages. The amount of sessions needed will vary depending on the dog's specific issues that need to be resolved and the amount of follow through from the owner outside of lessons.

Absolutely! Older dogs can certainly learn new behaviors. It may take longer than with puppies due to the length of time the bad habits have been part of the dog's daily routine. With consistency and patience however, dogs of any age can be taught proper manners!

We had such a great experience with Rachael! She did a great job at training our dog Lola as well as us. We had a dog that was super reactive to other dogs that came off very aggressive and somewhat frightening for the other dog. Through our sessions we were able really help Lola not react or to not react negatively when she saw other dogs. This has made camping with Lola 100% more enjoyable. My wife and I would highly recommend her.

Rachel is amazing and truly has a gift for dog training. We are lucky to have found her as we did one on one training. She helped us with training our golden retriever puppy. As we all know puppies can be overwhelming. With her guidance and support our puppy is learning and quickly (place, sit, down, leave it, walking, greetings, no, yes, etc. etc. etc.). Her videos are also very helpful.

We contacted several trainers before deciding on Paws Down Dog Training. We struggled to find one where we were comfortable leaving our baby. We could tell that Rachael has a love and passion for dogs, and our girl was still sweet and happy when training was over. We highly recommend Paws Down Dog Training.

We are so grateful for the sessions we had with Rachael. Her guidance is very clear, easy to understand and follow through with. She helped us help our girl to gain the confidence she needed around new people and places, as well as with some basic day to day skills she needed, so she can be happy and without all the nervousness. Our sessions took place at her home, our home, and at at park. She is very responsive to text questions, even when we found ourselves in a pickle prior to our first scheduled session. If you need some help with your pup, and are willing to follow through with the guidance you are given, you will have great success with your sessions.
