Pavlov Dog Training - Portland

I was checking around for someone to train my GSD, Fifi, and was lucky enough to discover PAVLOV Dog Training of PDX. Our initial interactions were professional, informative and comforting. Fifi and I were matched with Meredith. Together we chose the Board and Train Camp which included on-leash obedience level 1 and off-leash obedience 2. Meredith is a highly skilled dog trainer with impressive credentials. She has some kinda magical powers over dogs. But, what I liked most is she understood my Fifi’s personality and capabilities. . I knew Fifi was in good hands and would be safe during her time away from me. Fifi was returned to me with a solid, SOLID, set of skills. She also is confident, brave and excited to join my daily excursions. We are able to understand each other’s language and now we work together very easily. We are very grateful for Meredith's magic !

We recently sent our 1 year old pup to the 2 week board and train. He would pull on the leash, constantly jump on us and others and would counter surf. Luka came back a new puppy! He is no longer pulling on the leash and has a prefect heel, he doesn’t jump nearly as much and is no longer counter surfing. We are so grateful for Meredith! She has been super communicative throughout the entire process and we have been able to meet for follow ups after his training. We are so happy we decided to send Luka to Pavlov training!

Pavlov’s 2 week training program changed our lives! Hopper, our 8 month old golden, was counter surfing, jumping on people, barking, resource guarding with our 10 yo Rottweiler (which led to *serious* biting when I’d intervene)— on and on. Two weeks with trainer Kylah and he was a new dog. She is STELLAR! The difference is astounding. He’s still sweet and joyful, but now he has impulse control! 🙏🏼There’s no fighting or biting, no leash pulling, stealing food, jumping… We are so grateful to Kylah and PAVLOV’s. We did a 3 week board and train for our 2.5 year old high prey drive, low impulse control and reactive male coonhound. I did not want to resort to board and train but we had been dealing with Oliver’s reactivity since we adopted him at 7 months old with very little results, even with previous trainers and every imaginable training tool you can think of. I’m talking full blown screaming melt downs when he would encounter other dogs and fence fighting with both neighboring dogs. Long gone were the days of hiking, camping and going to the beach. Taking him for a walk in our neighborhood was an anxiety ridden chore I did not look forward to. His reactivity was beyond frustrating and embarrassing. What appealed to me with the Portland board and train is that the boarding was in the comfort of the trainers home in a residential neighborhood vs. a sterile commercial environment. It was also comforting to know they do not take in aggressive dogs, something I didn’t want Oliver exposed to. We met with Kylah and Meredith before deciding and they clearly defined their training style and took into account our past negative experiences with his prior training. We received twice weekly updates on Oliver’s progress with photos or videos. We were impressed with his weekly progress. The final result is his obedience is 100% better. We are still working on his reactivity but now feel confident we have the tools and knowledge to continue the training. I knew we made the right decision when Oliver was ecstatic to see Kylah for a follow up training session a week after he finished his board and train. It’s apparent Oliver was well loved and gained the trust of his handlers.

We did a two-week board and train program with Kylah for our 4-year old Braque Francais. We just wanted to fine tune his skills he already had, plus learn some new additional skills and work on his separation anxiety. Kylah was awesome! She was great at communicating with us during his stay and sending pictures and videos of his progress. She had great follow-up so that we stayed on task for our follow-up appointments with her too. Blu was an awesome dog before Pavlov, but even more enjoyable after his training with Kylah. He definitely listens better but is much more calm than before training. Highly recommend Kylah for any training needs!
