Hello I would like to get a pet therapy certificate to go to nursing homes etc for a dog that I am thinking of adopting. Do you offer these classes?

Yes we do! We recommend taking our obedience courses (starting with Beginner thru Advanced). A couple months prior to the evaluation we offer a 4 week Therapy Dog Prep class. The evaluation is held once a year in either late May or early June.

How old does your puppy need to be to start training and do they need all shots first?
The puppy class says you can start as early as 8 weeks- 6months that's for the puppy class and then the beginner obedience they have to be 6 months or older and yes you need proof they are up to date on vaccines

I am so grateful to have found these dog training classes. I adopted my girl Miley a few months ago she is a 2.5 yo Lab/Staffy mix. She has a few bad habits because she spent a little over a year in a shelter before I adopted her. She jumps on people when she meets new friends and is reactive to other dogs. They have helped me become more confident when teaching her manners. The trainers have been patient and caring. The classes are very affordable and are paced for understanding not just getting for sharing the information. I have had all of my questions answered and I definitely feel supported in my journey. I definitely will be signing her up for more classes after this one ends.

Have taken several classes here including obedience, therapy dog training and agility. Training is positive reinforcement based and the staff is excellent. Well maintained facility. We will continue to train here.

I cannot recommend Patience Inspired Dog Training enough! They are patient, diligent, resourceful, affordable, and facilitate confidence in dog owners like myself that have helped me maintain applying the skills learned outside of class. After taking Beginners and Intermediate Obedience courses I signed my dog up for the Behave! Trouble Zone course that refined his skills in loose leash walking, greetings, and recall. We still have so much to learn and he has come a long way to work on becoming a therapy dog. I’m so excited to continue working with this awesome training center and community!
