Passion Fur Paws

My nickname for Crystal is "Amazing Dog Whisperer", because she did exactly that the first time she met our dogs. I contacted Passion Fur Paws because I was looking (frantically) for someone to help with, Izxie, my 3 yr old APBT that we rescued in December. I knew I wanted someone that was able to teach the AKC Canine Good Citizen training (eventually) . Izzie was very easily over stimulated and would go right to "rough playing" - grabbing clothes, hands, arms, etc- with her teeth as well as jumping on people, and all the other things an ill-mannered dog might do. She had no manners. For our first session, Crystal came to the house. We decided to let her walk in and see how things went. All 3 of our dogs were her best friends in 5 minutes. They sat and focused on her and Izzie didn't budge for her normal stimuli. We discussed options for training and because Crystal didn't have the opportunity to show us any corrective measures on her visit, she offered to give me credit towards obedience training classes. Izzie did so well with Basic Obedience 1, I immediately signed us up for Basic Obedience 2. We're so impressed with Crystal and Amy (the other trainer that I have been in classes with) that my husband has started the service dog training program with his Labrador. Oh, and Izzie doesn't attack the clothes that I am wearing any longer. She's much less reactive to environmental stimuli (I would describe her reactivity as "normal dog stuff" like people walking down the sidewalk in front of the house, delivery people, etc.)and I would even go so far as saying she has developed manners. She even listens to me when she's reacting to the "normal dog stuff" and can be settled down rather easily. Making progress every day.
