About Partners Snake Avoidance

Partners Snake Avoidance has successfully trained over 16,000 dogs to avoid the SCENT and SOUND of a Rattlesnake for the past 16 years. It works in 3 parts. 1. We put our own equipment on your pup and use our own experienced handlers to make sure they association is objective as possible. Just between the dog and the snake. 2. We then take your dog to around to several double mesh wire cages in a desert environment, and once they recognize the scent or sound of the rattlesnake we give a very minimal "nick" on an e-collar to train a negative association. 3. At the end, we will give you a recap of what we thought of the session and will recommend a time to come back for your pup's refresher.

Do you use defanged, box, or cage training? I'm getting a 6 month old heeler who will be my hiking buddy.

They use a double mesh wire cage so there is no chance the snake can get to your dog. Though, it still lets the sound and scent through! I would never go to a trainer that defangs the snakes as it can be very painful for the snake, and still potentially harm the dog. The fangs grow back:/

Outstanding staff, facility, and experience. My dog is sensitive and has separation anxiety. He went through the snake avoidance training and thanks to the skill, friendliness, and professionalism of the staff, he made it through with flying colors. They explained how this works, it was very quick as I thought it would be, effective, and informative. Wonderful facility, very good vibe with everybody I met working there, it was overall a 5 star experience. Simple, efficient, effective, and well done. Highly recommend them. If I lived closer I would pursue further training. I will definitely return for follow up reinforcement training.

This was our 4th year with the snake avoidance and I can say they are friendly but also very professional. I have also trained with them and are a great training group to work with.

Waylon is treated so good every time we go here. This ilwas his second refresher and while the enforce that the snakes are bad this enot used to E collars won't find it brutal to thier dog. Recommend them every time.

Gave 2strs. Only because the had actual snakes $150 plus time they had 2 caged snakes one trainer had the leash one had remote 8min or less of actual training remote guy said she's set but I should com back in 3months this service is for the yuppies and codgers with fluff muffin pets that go for a periodic walk in the boonies 3x/mo
