Pals Dog Training

My husband and I recently completed 10 consecutive weeks of training with Dominic at Pals Dog Training. Per Dominic’s suggestions we chose to switch our pup from harness to halter, work on the commands “leave-it” and “settle”. We adopted a very strong-willed and determined Great Dane and our goals were to bond with our pup and provide direction through the confusion and emotional struggles he acquired from his first two years of life. We were focused on learning ourselves and doing the weekly homework asked of us, and at the end of the 10 weeks we were gifted with a bond and the relationship we were looking for. Our Dane knows and understands what is necessary to work together and he is now able to go to all the places he once was not allowed to before because he didn’t have the social manners and discipline that would enable him to succeed. We are fortunate and blessed to have had someone refer us to Dominic, we would recommend Dominic to anyone who is looking for more in your human/animal relationship.

I reached out to Dominic about my dog Mica. We were having problems with her around other dogs while being on leash and it was a habit she had recently developed that I did not want her to keep. Dominic first came to evaluate Mica and he told us the reasons why she was behaving the way she was- which gave us some insight as to how she was feeling. He came up with a plan for us to teach her how to calm herself around dogs, leave them alone on command, and more! Dominic made it SO easy to help mica. If we ever felt we forgot specifically how to do an exercise, we had a detailed written guide- personalized for Mica- for us to refer to. He was available quickly by email for all of our questions and concerns at any time. The best part was seeing how excited Mica was every week when Dominic would come over. Mica is so well behaved and confident now, and I am so glad she doesn’t have to live in fear or discomfort. We owe it all to this training process!

We just had our second session with Dominic, and it was so much fun. It's been incredibly rewarding to teach our dogs new skills and see how much fun they have learning. My dog Ralph and I have met with so many trainers, and I always left the sessions feeling discouraged, and like any progress would be impossible, but Dominic is great because he breaks everything up into really small, manageable pieces. I've also felt like training would be too expensive for me to be able to commit to, but his sessions are so affordable, and the fact that we meet twice a month makes it much easier to handle. I am seriously looking forward to putting all of the skills we're learning together to help all 3 of our dogs coexist peacefully and with as little stress to us and to them as possible. If you are dealing with daunting behavior problems with your pups, or you just want to teach them basic commands, and you're willing to commit to practicing with them, I HIGHLY recommend Dominic.
