Pack Leader Help

PLH has simply saved me and my pup from chaos and uncertainty. Two weeks after adopting my pup … as sweet as she was… I questioned whether I should have adopted this sheet but wild child. I learned of PLH from the org. Where I adopted my pup from and scheduled in-home training. First serious 1.5 hours and my dog was a different dog. Well perhaps the same dog but I was different. PLH and julianne helped me understand my dog and her needs, helped me think through logically what I was looking to achieve, provided me with in-depth tools and resources … Two sessions in and my pup now walks well on leash, understands how to ‘place’, is learning how to greet new people who enter my home properly and calmly… practice makes perfect and we have a few months to go but I am eternally grateful to PLH for educating me and providing me with the tools I needed to then work with my dog.

I have fostered dogs with a local rescue for more than 3 years. We used Pack Leader when our "foster fail" turned out to be leash reactive. We had such a positive experience that I reached out again with our current foster, Wally. Wally had lived in the kennel for 2 months and had a reputation for constantly running back and forth and barking. At adoption events he was a heavy puller and barked at everyone and everything. It was to the point that I had to walk him the entire 3 hours around the event to keep him calm. I decided to foster Wally because I was worried that his behaviors would keep him from being adopted - and he is so gorgeous and loving. Brianna came to our house and listened to this story. She was very encouraging about what I had been doing to work with Wally and offered suggestions and small adjustments to improve on it. We changed out the collar I use to walk him and we practiced a few leash activities. I could tell immediately that we were on a new, better path to communicating and really felt a sense of joy about it. Brianna gently and confidently helped us both work better together. She also identified some of his behavior, which we thought was playful, as signs of nervousness and tension; this was information I needed. Because in the end it's about getting Wally into his forever home. It's a week later and now Wally is much easier to walk and has even relaxed more in the house. He is calmer and his play is more appropriate and less frantic. I'm happy with the changes we've seen so far! We still need to work on barking on walks. Our goal is to be able to join one of the pack walks soon. Thank you Brianna!
