We recently welcomed a French Bulldog puppy into our family. Having an 11-year-old Boston Terrier that we never professionally trained, we’ve experienced some behavioral challenges over the years. This time, we wanted to start off on the right foot and committed to professional training from the beginning. After researching several organizations, we were fortunate to connect with Yvonne. To date, we’ve completed one initial two-hour consultation and three one-hour follow-up sessions, with additional sessions scheduled. Yvonne has been working with us on several key behaviors, including: Excessive barking Jumping on guests at the door Rough play with our older dog Obedience commands such as “stay” and “come” Leash training and calm walking when encountering other dogs or people Door manners (not running outside) Responding promptly to commands Three of these sessions were held at our home, and one took place at a nearby park to address real-world scenarios. After just four sessions, we’ve seen an incredible improvement in our puppy’s behavior. We plan to continue training to reinforce positive habits and ensure consistency—not only for our dog but for us as owners. Our goal is to have a dog that is playful and enjoyable while understanding boundaries and behaving appropriately in public settings. Yvonne’s approach emphasizes that training is as much about the owners as it is about the dog, helping us understand how our actions influence behavior.
