Off Leash K9 Training Rochester/Syracuse

I cannot say enough great things about Off Leash K9 Training and especially our trainer, Alex! It took us a long time to commit to getting a puppy after our older dog passed away a few years ago. We have teenagers, with busy schedules, my husband travels for work - we don’t have a whole lot of extra time on our hands - adding a puppy didn’t make much sense. But my heart wanted one! With that being said, I wanted to make sure we had a dog who could tag along with us. So we committed. I came across Off Leash K9 online. My husband and I had to go out of town for a week and I felt guilty leaving a puppy with my parents - Off Leash K9 offered a “puppy jump start” program and I thought this was our perfect opportunity to see what this is like. It was hard leaving our puppy with a stranger, but I trusted the process and am so thankful we did. And Tug LOVED Alex! I never expected how much he would learn is just 2 weeks. Alex would send us videos everyday of what they were working on. Our kids loved them (and so did I)! He filled us in on everything they were doing - it was hard not to feel confident this was a good decision. Fast forward a couple months and Tug was ready for the “off-leash” program. When we dropped Tug off at the facility he was SO EXCITED to see Alex and vise-versa! They have a bond. I know Alex wants to make Tug the best dog he can be. Yes, these are dogs we are talking about, but we all know we love them just as much as our kids and only want the best for them. At only 7 and a half months, Tug has gone from a crazy little puppy to a well mannered dog. We do have to continue to work on his skills to drill them in, but to have the base-work done by someone who knows what they are doing and can do it consistently over the course of a couple weeks has been beyond helpful for our family. We are so thankful for Alex! I’d definitely recommend Off-Leash K9 Training to anyone looking for help with their dog. I love that they socialize them and work with other trainers in the area too. I walk into Lowes with him and everyone knows Tug!

Alex, your Off Leash training of our 1.5 year old golden retriever has been life changing for all of us! We were advised to NOT get a golden but we did. So darn cute, lovable and STRONG. She had a mind of her own. Didn’t listen pulling my husband down in the snow and dragging me through pricker bushes. That’s when I said we’re signing her up for boot camp! Two weeks with you in the board and train program and what a miraculous difference. We are thankful everyday. Your kind caring and patient ways made you the perfect trainer for Cheyanne. We were worried about being away from her for two weeks but you were so understanding sending us pics and videos of her progress. She went from out of control to staying by our side. We can’t thank you enough!!!

Working with Alex has been nothing short of amazing. When we first brought our Belgian Malinois to training, she was extremely high-energy, stubborn, and completely unresponsive to commands. She also didn’t do well around other dogs at all. But with each session, we began to see incredible progress. Our dog started listening, responding to commands, and—most exciting of all—we got to witness her playing with another dog for the very first time (that wasn’t one of our own). It was a huge milestone and something we never thought we’d see. Alex is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also very easy to talk to. He makes you feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. If you’re debating whether to put your dog through training, I highly recommend you do it—and do it with Alex. You won’t regret it!
