What is an e-collar?
Our "walkie talkie" (aka communication device) uses the same safe technology as TENS units you’d find at a physical therapist. We use the lowest possible stimulation—think “tap on the shoulder”—to get your dog’s attention, not to startle or scare. Hi Fanta, While we do require the dogs to be housebroken to enroll in our board and train program our puppy program for dogs 5 months and under does help you set up a good routine with crate training and breaks to be successful with housebreaking.

We had a great experience for our hound/retriever mix . The biggest learnings are for me and I will take the time to work with our pup to train and keep up all that he has learned. It’s very apparent that they are knowledgeable and care for the dogs. I would recommend to anyone looking for a trainer.

K-9 Off leash training is definitely worth it! From the videos we received day one it was like a different dog. Our trainer Tony was amazing. He did an amazing job training, but also kept our dog safe, healthy and happy over the two weeks he had him. At pick up, he spent a good hour and half at least with us to make sure we could continue with the training at home with success. He didn’t rush us out, really took the time to make sure we understood all the commands and how to handle certain situations. We are still working on things at home, but our dog has made so much progress from before we started the board and train. I would definitely recommend!!

Just taking a moment to appreciate Tony and the team! Rocky is a very sweet and smart chihuahua mix I adopted last year. While having him has been an absolute pleasure, I noticed his reactivity and disobedience increasing in the past six months. That’s when I decided to give Off Leash a try. After two weeks with Tony, Rocky has become so much more obedient. Walks are much more pleasurable, he can maintain focus when there are distractions, and he rarely if ever lunges or barks at other dog (aside from Sam, who I suppose is his neighborhood nemesis). I was hesitant about the collar, but honestly it’s just a tap on the shoulder to bring his focus back to the demand. Keeping his focus has been instrumental in regulating his nervous system and reducing reactivity to distractions. I want to emphasize the board and train isn’t going to fix everything. For example, Rocky resource guards around other dogs. I’m currently working on it with him and while the training definitely helps, it didn’t solve this problem. The only way to solve it is to work on it with him and remind him of the commands that keep his system regulated. Still, I reached back out to Tony and the team when the resource guarding came up and they jumped on email and the phone to talk me through ways to help train him out of it. This step is definitely an investment, but it’s proven to be worthwhile for us.
Off leash was a great investment for my dog. Our trainer, Tony, gave my dog and I the skills we needed to get her to a place of being able to be off leash and have some independence while maintaining discipline that she would not wander away. This is certainly a time investment for pets and their owners but it’s definitely worth it and I highly recommend their services !
