Off Leash K9 Training, Charlottesville

We started dog training for our dog, Maisie, with the goal of reducing reactivity and improving leash walking skills. Lauren met with us once a week and instructed us on various commands and skills to practice with Maisie at home. Each week we saw improvements in Maisie's temperament as we practiced the skills Lauren taught us at home. After finishing training, Maisie is now easily able to walk in a heel, and her reactivity has decreased a ton. Walking with Maisie has returned to being an enjoyable time thanks to Lauren's help. Lauren is incredibly skilled at her job and I would highly recommend working with her to anyone who is struggling with a reactive dog.

Malachi was amazing with my 9-month-old golden doodle Sully and my 4-1/2 Shephard/dane mix Ranger. I absolutely love walking, but it had become no fun because I would get pulled when Ranger saw another dog and he was teaching Sully to do the same. Now I can walk them together!!! Also, the door manners are amazing. Now, people can come into the door without being bombarded by two large dogs. The daily report cards were great, especially because I missed my boys so much, so seeing pictures and videos every day made it so much easier on this mamma. Thank you, Malachi, for taking such care of my boys as if they were your own.

Larry was incredible - if more than 5 stars was possible, we’d give! Our family has three high-energy dogs and Larry was able to turn them from chaos to calm. Not only were the results amazing, but Larry himself was kind, calm and super communicative - we had no worries leaving our furry family members with him! He continues to be available to answer any questions and went above and beyond both in his dedication to our pets and his kindness to our family. Thank you!!

I have two Malinois mix pups, Aurora and Zuma, who have a lot of energy. Malachi was instrumental in getting them to work together, especially with a double heel & double place. The daily reports were incredibly helpful, providing detailed insights into their progress, the training they were receiving, and where they were excelling or refining their skills. I loved seeing them learn to place on unstable objects and become more confident walking through stores without issue. Malachi did an excellent job with the training, and I could tell from both the reports and the handoff that it was a success. I'm excited to take the dogs on more adventures now that they can work together and stay focused through distractions—something that was especially important for our black-and-tan male, who used to get easily distracted.

Hello! My name is Harley, and I would love to share my experience having my dog Winry trained by Malachi(pictured). We did the two week board and train because our dog was in desperate need of some help and professional guidance. Malachi took our anxious, fearful, reactive girl and literally transformed her in the two weeks that he had her. Before we dropped her off, she was whining and screaming so loud, and so often her voice would go hoarse. Pull so hard on the leash that she would start gasping and coughing. We took her home today, and the stark difference we see in her is unreal. She's so much more confident and happier. She listens and understands our commands now. The results highly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Malachi and Off Leash Training, and if we ever need training assistance again, I know I will certainly be returning.
