Off Leash K9 of Northern Virginia

Ian from Off-Leash K9 was absolutely phenomenal in training my red fox Labrador, Ledger!! We did a 2 week board and train and I could not have asked for a better trainer or experience. I am in shock about how much Ledger learned in that amount of time! It is distinctly obvious that Ian puts a ton of time and effort into training each and every dog. He is wonderful at adapting training methods to meet the needs of dogs he trains and owners he teaches. Without doubt, Ian loves what he does, loves all dogs, and is more than willing to do what he can to train dogs and owners from his advanced toolbox (actually…he has more of a toolSHED of effective training methods). Ian has compelling training knowledge and expertise in the field. It is crystal clear that he has incredible experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, ages, and specific concerns. He is not only AMAZING with dogs, but he truly dedicates and manifests his passion for training into building up a steady and individualized approach to routines, skillsets, boundary setting, etc. to help dogs to become the best dog that they can be. He effectively learns how and what each dog needs most out of training, and subsequently, provides all of the pertinent/important training methods for owners throughout and following the board and train. This training has been beyond transformative in Ledger’s behavior and our bond as a whole. Ian consistently provided updates and videos of his training methods each day as well, which is definitely helpful at times when I need to go back and review how he trained Ledger. Ian is highly willing to promptly provide me/owners with the knowledge needed to train appropriately and in a way that is impressively effective. Following training, he has been fantastic about answering all of my questions without hesitation, so that Ledger continues to build up those learning blocks for maintaining a very solid foundation and hence, continue forming a very beneficial and compelling mutual bond. The knowledge I gained from his daily updates and the first training session post-board&train is immeasurable. The commands, such as place, down/duration down, heel, redirection, rewarding (and when to reward), even some public methods and socialization with his wonderful dogs to train with distractions, and highly constructive, practical, and successful corrections that he taught me are so much more effective than any I have used before! If I could rate Ian 100 stars, I would! My dad even came over yesterday and was almost in disbelief regarding Ledger’s positive changes in behavior! Ledger is maintaining a very focused heel (including distractions), great duration of commands (i.e. place, sit, down, etc.), and habit-forming behavior (such as ensuring sitting prior to entering or exiting the door, building routines, etc.) that I will be using every day. I could not be more grateful for this experience and HIGHLY recommend Ian and Off-Leash K9 to anyone who needs assistance with training their dogs!!! I cannot thank you enough!!!🐾🦮🐾

We had a fantastic experience with K9 Off Leash Dog Training! Our golden doodle, Lainey, completed the two-week board and train program and came home like a brand new, well-behaved pup. The transformation was incredible—she now walks calmly on a leash, doesn’t pull or run ahead, and is so much more focused and responsive. We especially loved working with Danny. His knowledge, experience, and positive attitude made the entire process enjoyable and effective. He didn’t just train Lainey—he helped train us to be better puppy parents, too. We’re so grateful for the time, care, and guidance he provided. Danny’s also an awesome photographer and we looked forward to the pictures and videos he’d send us each day of their training progress. Taking Lainey on walks is now something we truly look forward to, and we can’t recommend K9 Off Leash and Danny highly enough!
