Off Leash K9 of Northern Virginia

Dean was a great trainer. When we gave our dog Nala to him she didn’t know anything. After 2 weeks of being with Dean she knew sit, down, come, place, heel and much more. She’s also a lot more calm than before. The program was not cheap but in my opinion it was well worth it. Dean also took 2 hours to explain us every little thing he had done with Nala over the 2 weeks, and we should continue her training.

Our family is over the moon about our pup’s experience with OLK9 of Northern Virginia. Freddie’s trainer, Dean, was so great in communicating with us beforehand and during the training. He made sure that he knew specific challenges that we wanted to address and sent daily video updates of how Freddie was doing. Let’s just say that we were absolutely amazed. So far, we have been able to keep up everything that Freddie (and we) learned. Overall, I’m so incredibly happy with the results. Freddie no longer lunges at other dogs on walks and actually listens to us. He’s become the best version of himself — just as fun loving and sweet as before but now with better manners. Love love love what OLK9 was able to do for us and Freddie.

We got to work with John Wilson to help our deaf dog with aggression and reactivity and I cannot write enough positive words about our experience to fully express our gratitude. When we signed up for these classes, our pup was struggling a lot especially when he got scared. He would react negatively at anyone around him, didn’t respect boundaries, resource guarded, bit and wouldn’t listen to signs. After trying a different deaf dog training company that hurt more than it helped, finding John with Offleash K9 was like a godsend. We haven’t had a single issue of aggression or reactivity since starting and completing these classes; it is like night and day remembering how our puppy was to how he is now. He is confident, respects his own and our boundaries, shares treats and food with our other dog, and wants affection from everyone (and when he’s done knows to take him out of the situation before he even shows a tooth). With him being a rescue, deaf, reactive/aggressive, and having a bad experience with a prior training company I was so nervous to work with another company but John eased our nerves and proved how good he is at his job immediately. We aren’t afraid to pet our dog anymore; I feel like we got our puppy back and are able to give him the best life possible. I cannot recommend John and Offleash K9 enough. The training has made our dogs happier together, the house happier, and John was flexible with classes if I was running behind or anything. On top of that, even if the classes had been pricey it was well worth it, but an added bonus was that this was an extremely affordable training especially for everything you get out of it.
