FirstBarkI've had Wade train two dogs. Mia in 2016 and Daisy in 2024. I've been extremely satisfied with the results. Wade does a great job with instruction and the facilities are first-class. When the time comes, I'll be back with my 3rd dog.

Do you offer already trained Labrador Retrievers for sale?
In the market for a Trained Retriever? We occasionally offer labs for sale that have been through one of our gun dog training programs. Depending on their age and the level of training they have achieved, we will sell them as Started Pups or Started Dogs. No matter what level you choose, once you have hunted with a trained retriever, you'll never want to hunt with anything else!

Do you offer puppies that are bred for pointing?
Are you looking for a Labrador Retriever puppy bred for both drive and companionship? Interested in Pointing Labrador Puppies? We offer carefully selected breeding that will produce black, chocolate, and yellow Labrador pups. Some of our dogs are from pointing Labrador bloodlines and either point themselves or throw pointing lab pups.

Our family has 2 dogs (chocolate in 2018, yellow in 2024) from Northern Plains Retrievers, we have been thoroughly impressed with their drive and demeanor, they are easy to train and hard charging in the field. Yet, when the work is done they are happy cuddling on the coach. We will absolutely be going back to Wade and Julie in a few years for our next family member.

Thank you Wade and Julie. For those with questions I would be happy to talk. I've bought 2 other dogs from a long time friend and breeder, when we were looking for another I reached out, he no longer breeds dogs but I asked what about Northern Plains Retrievers and he gave a 100% glowing endorsement of, "Yes Wade and Julie have amazing dogs", facility and training program. We brought our black lab home at 6 months after their puppy program training. We had him with us for 2 months then sent him back for the next level training for 4 months. What Northern Plains Retrievers did was beyond our expectations. They brought out so much more ability and drive than I ever imagined. When I picked him up he never skipped a beat in knowing us and wanting to please. I would not hesitate to get a second dog from Northern Plains Retrievers, Wade and Julies dogs are some of the best I've seen and worked with, their training grounds and kennels are immaculately clean and well cared for. They know every dog intimately and personally.
Wade and Julie are great people. They are very responsible breeders and have superior dogs. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for Labrador retrever.
