Spent 1/2 hour with our dog saying it’s okay if you don’t want to swim..our dog never entered the water no teaching encouragement. My second dog had a slight sprain in his leg, was seen by the vet got the okay for swimming lessons ..April didn’t feel comfortable even though my vet said it would be fine..so when it came to paying her I gave her half she insisted on the full amount for doing absolutely nothing! I paid her … this place is awful!!! Lazy teacher!!! Stay clear!!!

As a professional dog trainer myself, I have extremely high standards for the trainers and facilities I take my own dogs to. April and her team are extremely knowledgable and run an incredible facility that hosts some of the best seminars and classes I've been to. In addition to providing some of the best dog sport-related education in the state, April's private lessons on fitness training have significantly improved my 10 year old Australian Shepherd's quality of life. Anyone who has a high-energy aging sport dog knows how heart-breaking it is to watch a dog mentally want to keep going as their body begins to give up on them. New England K9 has been super helpful to us with improving our training skills with our 2 year old dog. Our dog had her basic commands down, but we needed help with her settling (especially outside of the house), grooming and minimizing demand barking. Our trainer, Kate, is knowledgeable, patient and supportive. Our girl has made great progress. The facilities are excellent, very clean and well kept. I highly recommend for training.

I traveled an hour each way to take fitness classes with April here. She was knowledgeable and made suitable adjustments for all the dogs in class, both for their physical and mental well-being--my dog absolutely loved her as did all the dogs in class, most of whom were continuing students there. The fitness classes were targeted for agility but were super-helpful for other sports or for general fitness; the dog I had in class competes in obedience, rally and nosework but my non-competition dogs at home enjoy taking turns at the exercises when I practice. April provided thorough follow-ups for all of the exercises we covered so I have a reference to look back on, which is incredibly useful and important. I'm looking forward to going back to New England K9 Athlete for other things!
