New England K-9 School for Dogs

Sol's the real deal! We've been to 1 lesson so far with our 1 yr old pug and have definitely seen an improvement! He's staying by our side when we walk him! We're even using Sol's training with our 4 year old Boston. Lessons are one on one. You'll pull up to a really cool iron gate with a couple of dogs on them. The gate's locked until your appointment time, so that you don't disturb the lesson he's currently teaching. Our lesson ran over an hour and he was totally cool with it. We also purchased the chain collar and leash, which has been so helpful and much easier on my hands! He tells you off the bat that you WILL feel foolish, but it's all part of the training. Lesson 1 is actually more of a training for us than for the dog. My husband and I did some laughing at each other as we paraded back and forth, turning left, turning right, telling Mervyn (yes, that's our pug's name) to heel, sit, and stay. If you can go with another person, I would say do it. We took turns with the dog and learned a lot by watching each other. We're doing our best to spend 15 minutes, twice a day, practicing with him. Once we feel we've got a good handle on this, we'll give Sol a call for lesson 2!

Sol Oven is a genius! Plain and simple!! New England K9 School For Dogs is a MUST. In just one session with Sol you'll be given the basics or necessary skills to training a dog no matter how you look at it, ONE HOUR and doing YOUR homework pet training truly gets easier! Sol is very up front, has a great disposition and truly cares about each and every pet he works with. I now look forward to my next training session with my puppy to master his first set of skills so we can move on to our next session with Sol. We have a 15 months golden retriever, July, that never got trained. We talked with Sal on the phone and scheduled the first class. After 30 minutes we decided to go with this. It was an amazing first session. July used to pull the leash all the time when we walked him and I fell down few times in the snow and almost broke my arms. After the first session we started walking July with the equipment and the way how Sal taught us. He did an AMAZING job from the first day we got home!!! Not pulling, always walking by our side!! Highly recommended if you are looking for a real deal!!!

I contacted Sol recently when my 2 year old rescue dog (who we adopted at 3months) started showing aggression and was not obeying. After a search for trainers in the area, I called Sol. His 40+ years experience and approach made me feel confident that he could help us. He explained that our dog needs to know who is boss, so we have gone back to the basics with training our dog, and I already see a difference.
