NC K9 LLC

NC K9 is a game changer. Honestly, life changer might be a better choice of words. Our dog (1.5 year old, Australian Shepherd) was reactive/aggressive toward people and dogs she didn't know. It was extremely stressful, as we didn't feel comfortable taking her outside of her normal day-to-day routine. Even that was stressful in itself. We decided to send her to NC K9's 6 week program, and she is SO much better! She can handle seeing new dogs, and has even met several new people since coming home. NC K9 built the strong foundation for our dog to be successful. Making the decision to enroll her in training was the best thing we have ever done for our dog, and honestly, for ourselves too!

Dropped my dog off due to a last minute emergency and some much needed obedience training and Jim was super understanding and took Raider in without issue. Jim & his team took their time with Raider because he was initially apprehensive and paired him with trainers he really responded to (thanks Jenna!). Picked him up yesterday and took our first few walks back in the city- he was so good! Definitely had some different distractions (sirens, many cars, more pedestrians) that will take some getting used to but he listened to his corrections and was excited to show off his new skills! Can't wait to see him continue to improve!

We sent our 10 month old Irish Setter to a 4 week board and train and couldn’t have been more impressed! We chose NCK9 because Jim is great at communicating with clients and provides a well rounded training environment. We were looking for someone to help us with overall manners, especially around our young kids, and recall. During the training period, we were able to visit and work with Jim during the process so that we could learn alongside our dog. Jim was great at listening to our needs and I loved how he capitalized on our dog’s strengths to bring out the best in him. He clearly took the time to get to know what makes him "tick". All of the dogs at his training facility are SO happy! It’s not unusual for there to be several dogs being trained, played with, and worked at once (each under the care of their own trainer) and all are eager to please and wagging their tails the whole time. Jim and the other trainers use positive training methods that clearly get results! Our pup came away with polished manners (although he’s still a puppy, so he will still have goofy moments) and off-leash recall, which was our dream! As a family, we were given great instructions on how to continue training at home. Jim was also flexible on our pickup date when our holiday travel was disrupted. NCK9 also offers free refresher training as often as we’d like, so we definitely plan to visit again to keep things sharp! Overall, I highly recommend NCK9 to anyone seeking training or advice!

Maverick went to see NCK9 because he is a typical chocolate lab with tons of energy and I was having a really hard time controlling him and giving him the best outlet for his energy. He was constantly jumping on people and couldn't be walked on a leash and he had a hard time listening. We picked him up today after 6 weeks of obedience and off leash training and the amount he learned and how much he knows and listens to now is amazing! We are so thankful for Jim and his help with Mav. He really took his time and worked with us in showing us how to continue working with Maverick at home and how to correct his behavior. We are so thankful and will be recommending them to anyone looking for training.
