We recently completed Naked Dog Training's three-week Fundamentals Plus program with our dog, Koda, and I can honestly say the results have exceeded our expectations. Before anything else, I want to recognize the entire training team. Koda worked with many trainers throughout the program, and everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in his success. That said, Ely was an absolute standout. He handled the parent-and-pup portion of our training, and his energy, enthusiasm, and ability to explain not just what we were doing, but why we were doing it, made a tremendous difference. He was patient, encouraging, and always took the time to answer questions in a way that made us feel confident continuing the work at home. His passion for what he does is obvious, and it shows in the way he connects with both dogs and their owners. If I'm being completely honest, there was a point during the program when we were concerned that Koda seemed to be getting worse rather than better. We chose to bring him home each night rather than board him during the three-week program, and before we completed the parent training and were introduced to the e-collar, we experienced some behaviors that felt like setbacks. We later learned that this is actually a normal part of the training process as dogs begin testing boundaries and learning new expectations. Knowing that now, it makes perfect sense, but I do think it would be helpful if pet parents were given a little more education upfront about what to expect during this phase. Understanding that these temporary regressions can be part of the journey would help alleviate a lot of anxiety for owners. That said, the outcome has been exactly what we were hoping for and, honestly, praying for. Koda is more responsive, more focused, and we now have the tools and knowledge to continue building on the foundation the team helped create. Training a dog is as much about training the humans as it is the dog, and Naked Dog Training does an excellent job of both. We are incredibly grateful to Ely and the entire team for helping us and Koda become a stronger, more successful pack. Thank you for giving us the confidence, structure, and guidance we needed to help Koda become the dog we knew he could be.
