Naked Dog Training

Cannot recommend Naked Dog Training more. John and every one of his trainers love dogs and are tireless in helping to find the best solution for your dog. We had made the very difficult to decision to euthanize our 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix after taking her to multiple trainers and having no success in treating her aggression. We were being bitten regularly prompting several trips to urgent care, she was incredibly reactive to squirrels, reflections on the floor/ceiling, and our cats. She would become extremely aggressive in her crate at night or anytime that she was tired. At the last minute we found Naked Dog Training and decided to give it one more try. She did the 6 week Life is an Adventure board and train program and John and his team worked together to find strategies that worked for our dog. When they hit a road block they would pivot and try something new. It was very clear how dedicated they all were to her success. John told us that if she was only 90% better when the program ended he would consider it a failure. We are so happy with the results! It took some adjusting when she got home for her to realize that her same tricks weren't going to fly and that we knew the same techniques that John and his team knew, but John was supporting us the whole time and she is absolutely a different dog now. We haven't been bitten in almost 4 months, and she is calmer, happier and less stressed, as is the rest of the family!

If I could give Naked Dog Training more than five stars, I would. I traveled down from Portland because I kept hearing that John Whittaker was the best around, and after seeing the transformation in Bodie, I can confidently say the reputation is well deserved. Training a Great Dane is no small assignment, especially when the student is rapidly becoming the size of a small horse and has his own opinions about how the world should operate. John did an incredible job building Bodie’s confidence, improving his manners, and giving him the structure he needed, all without taking away the goofy, lovable personality that makes him Bodie. John kept me updated throughout the entire six weeks, clearly explained what he was working on, and made sure I understood how to continue reinforcing everything at home. The difference in Bodie is remarkable. He is more focused, responsive, confident, and enjoyable to take just about anywhere. The drives from Portland were absolutely worth every mile. If you are serious about giving your dog the best possible foundation, especially if that dog will soon outweigh half the people in the room, Naked Dog Training is the place to go. John truly is one of the best around, and Bodie and I could not be happier with the experience.

I cannot recommend Naked Dog Training enough. From the very beginning, the entire Naked dog team treated my dog, Leo like he was their own. They never gave up on him, even when I felt overwhelmed and unsure of what the future held. Before finding Naked Dog Training, I truly thought I was running out of options. Leo struggled with aggression, and I was terrified what the future had in store because of it, This team saw past his behavior and believed in the dog he was capable of becoming. Their knowledge, patience, dedication, and genuine love for dogs completely changed his life, and mine. Today, Leo is a happier, more confident dog who can be around people and other dogs in ways I never imagined possible. The transformation has been incredible, but what means the most is that they gave him a second chance. I honestly believe that if it weren’t for Naked Dog Training, I wouldn’t still have Leo today. They didn’t just train my dog, they saved his life, and in doing so, they saved a huge piece of my heart. That is something I will never, ever forget. Thank you, Jon, Eli, Addison, Liam, Trevor and every single person at Naked Dog Training for believing in Leo when so many others wouldn’t. Your compassion, hard work, and commitment mean more than words can express. I will be forever grateful, and I recommend you to anyone looking for trainers who truly care about both dogs and the people who love them. A huge thank you to Eli, for loving him as your own and having so much patience with him, I always knew he was in good hands when I dropped him off each day. Leo’s gonna miss his buddy so much!

Our 1 year old Boxer Dino, came to Naked Dog Training in April of this year. He suffered from severe aggression with both people and other dogs. It was really difficult and stressful to take him out in public and have guests in our home for fear of serious safety consequences. Immediately upon meeting John (Owner) as we call the "Dog Whisperer", Eli (his primary trainer), and Zack, Dino has had results beyond what we ever could have imagined! They are all phenomenal with their knowledge, innovative training methods, consistent family support and guidance as well as most importantly, their love and passion for dogs is so evident! Dino has made so many friends during this process. His confidence and trust in socialization has improved dramatically since completing his 6 week Board and Train Program. Our family has had so much help with transitioning home. They offer ongoing training and ongoing coaching lessons in which our family attends on a weekly basis to fine tune the things he has learned not only with obedience, but his aggression which is basically non-existent! We have had multiple guests in our home, numerous service workers working within our home, and he even likes the mailman now! Amazing to say the least! I would give them 10 Stars if Google allowed that rating! We have continued with Day School Daycare with them as this is truly the only place we trust caring for our furry family member after having negative and unsuccessful experiences using other training facilities. Dino is finally a happy and well adjusted furry friend to all. I cant say enough about Naked Dog Training or my review would be a book! They are truly top notch, the best, and will NOT be disappointed!
