I can not recommend Modern Dog Training RI enough. I had used another dog training company in the past, but the style wasn't a match for me, so I decided to try someone new. Modern Dog Training was everything I was hoping for. Not only were Kristen and Kelsey knowledgeable, organized, and professional, but it's also so apparent that they truly cares about the best way to work with a dog so it doesn't get stressed or overwhelmed. Our dog has quite a history of past trauma, and Kristen handled his situation with compassion and professionalism. During our first consultation, she also asked what teaching style I preferred, which I really appreciated! Overall, their holistic & science based approach was a perfect balance, and really resonated with me as an animal lover. I'm so glad I found them and look forward to working with them more in the future!

After doing extensive research trying to find a trainer in RI that we would trust our dog Rigsby with, we decided upon Modern Dog. It was truly the best decision we could have made for our pup! 'Modern' is in the name for a reason - they use only the most up-to-date, PROVEN, scientific methods based on positive reinforcement. After our first consultation with owner Kristen, it was evident that she was extremely knowledgeable about all things dog behavior. We just completed the 5 in-home, private lesson package which was extremely convenient. Kristen was very accommodating with our busy schedule along the way. We especially appreciated the training recap emails she sends after each lesson. They outline in detail everything we covered with helpful reminders that will be a wonderful resource for years to come. We learned so much about our dogs body language and now have all the tools at our disposal to continue building better communication with our puppy Rigsby. When you chose Modern Dog you are not just paying for a few lessons, you are joining a community of trainers and other dog parents you can turn to if you ever need advice. I can’t begin to express how incredible and affordable this company is! Its owner and staff are the absolute best! From home training to private sessions, they have you covered. Kristen will work with you and make you feel more than comfortable when it comes to your pup! She is the most knowledgeable woman when it comes to this crazy business. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else when it comes to training. Definitely give this amazing company a call if you just got a new pup or even need to work on some skills with your older pets !! You won’t regret it !
