Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian. The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog. We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

I highly recommend Modern Dogs Training. Their trainers are professionals who have a great deal of knowledge about animal behavior.
We used Modern Dog Training for our 2 year old Goldendoodle who was reactive to other dogs. We learned so much from our behavioral assessment and private lessons and were given tools and practices that we are able to continue to use in our day to day training with our pup. We are very happy with our experience and feel we have lifetime support in our dogs training process.

I can't recommend Modern Dog Training enough! Modern Dog has been instrumental in helping us train good habits and confidence in our two rescues, even though they both had very unique needs. We first reached out when we had adopted our first dog Loki from a rescue, he had severe separation anxiety and we needed some guidance on how to help him feel more comfortable. Kristen and her team were extremely helpful with his adjustment to his new home. We also had the privilege to work with them when adopting our second dog who was very shy and had a hard time around people. Since working with them we have two confident dogs that are much more comfortable than they would have been without their guidance.

My husband and I have two rescues, both with very different needs, and we have been able to rely on Modern Dog for help with both of them. It is really important to us that Modern Dog is force free and we love that they teach us how to continue to implement positive reinforcement training at home. Their affordable prices and spotless facility don’t hurt either! We first reached out when we adopted our rescue Loki at a year old. Loki was dealing with severe separation anxiety and had a failed adoption before finding us. He needed a fresh start with manners and socialization skills. Kristen and her team were so knowledgeable and helped us learn to work with our boy as he adjusted to his new safe home. When we returned years later with our very shy rescue puppy Athena, Kristen was so gentle and patient, making sure that she was always comfortable, and we were reminded exactly why we trust them so much. Kristen puts so much care into her business and it definitely shows! We have learned so much about how to communicate with our pups and we have seen so much improvement in their confidence (as well as ours) since working with Modern Dog.
