I found John at Misfits Dog Training after our two dogs got into a fight, and I ended up getting bitten trying to break it up. My husband and I were understandably shaken up and John was so nonjudgmental and comforting when we called for consultation! He gave us some useful recommendations immediately and came over to our house within a few days to start. Dog training is really owner training, and John's approach is direct, but compassionate which we love. We've been doing lessons for about a month and our house and our pups feel so much safer!! I would recommend Misfits to anyone!

We've been working with John for about 5 sessions now and we are seeing big changes in our two dogs. One of them is extremely anxious and he has instigated several fights with our other dog in the past. John has met both dogs where they are and has created a training program for both my wife and I to address their behaviors going forward. It's very balanced. He is patient, we ask a ton of questions and he answers them all thoughtfully without any judgement. He's very straightforward in his approach and explains the why behind what we're doing. The homework assignments are easy to do, just have to ensure you do them to be successful, takes time and consistency. The knowledge and tools he's given us for how to prevent or worst case, address a dog fight cannot be understated, he really knows his stuff. Thank you for everything John, you've helped us immensely! They also do dog boarding, which is awesome! It's great to know our dogs are in good and experienced hands while we're away. Will add pictures to the review soon, excited to be able to take photos of the buddiez while they're staying on "place" together!
Great experience with our dog who has a lot of reactivity. He was barking constantly and not very fun to go on walks with and has improved so much now that we understand how to train and set boundaries for him. John is a great trainer, very easy to work with for in home training and cares about the dogs and helping the owners address their concerns. Would recommend to others
Goodness, my husband and I are so grateful for the training we received. We felt at a loss a bit with how and where to start with our sweet pup, and John made it so manageable for us to adopt strategies going forward, and have seen HUGE differences in our newfies behavior. We and bagel 🐾 are so happy!!!
