Ozzy, our border collie, and I had an excellent experience training with Jon through MCC. We got Ozzy from a rescue at one year and one month old-at the peak of adolescent rebellion. His intelligence amplified the effect to the point that he was very difficult to manage. He had been mistreated by a previous owner, had kennel anxiety, no door manners, no formal training, and pulled like a pack mule when walking. Over the 10 week course of our training, Ozzy has learned that his kennel is a safe and comfortable space, he will walk right next to me on a leash (or off), and is overall much easier for me to handle. I have even been able to transfer the training skills I’ve learned over to the second adolescent dog we got a few weeks before training was over. She also had kennel anxiety but is now doing well. Overall, I can attribute our success to John’s ability to bridge the gap between canine and human communication. He was incredibly patient with both myself and Ozzy. It was clear that he cared about the outcome in the way he praised gains and encouraged through setbacks. I can’t recommend enough, making MCC part of your training team.
