FirstBarkExceptionally good experience. Our second adopted puppy became aggressive toward the first and others after about two years. Three weeks of Boot Camp with James seems to have fixed all of that. She now walks perfectly on a leash and has no issues with other dogs whatsoever. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Midas Touch Dog Training and James. I got my dog Lillie during a time when I was going through a very difficult personal loss. When I first brought her home she was extremely sick and needed a lot of nursing and care, so we became very closely bonded very quickly. As she got stronger and healthier she also became increasingly territorial and reactive. She was terrified of many things and that fear started turning into aggressive behavior. Before finding James I spoke with several other trainers, and every experience left me feeling worse than when I arrived. I often felt shamed for my emotions and the way I cared about my dog. I was being asked to use approaches I was not comfortable with and that did not feel right for Lillie. After those meetings I felt discouraged and unsure where to turn next. Then I found James. From the very first phone call he was kind and patient with me. I even got emotional while explaining Lillie’s situation and he took the time to listen and talk through my concerns without making me feel rushed or judged. He acknowledged my worries while still giving clear guidance, and that balance meant a lot to me. Working with Lillie was not easy. She was extremely reactive and scared of almost everything. What stood out immediately was James’s patience and confidence with her. He never seemed overwhelmed by her behavior and believed she could improve. Over time I could see a bond forming between them, which surprised me because Lillie had always struggled to trust anyone other than me. One thing that surprised me during training was how much Lillie enjoyed the work once she settled into it. When she got into the rhythm of the exercises she became engaged and proud of what she was doing. Even now she still enjoys our walks where we practice the skills she learned. I also appreciated that James was honest and direct when needed. If I was doing something that confused Lillie or was not helping her, he corrected me in a clear and constructive way. Instead of making me feel bad about it, he explained why a different approach would help her succeed. That feedback helped me become a more confident handler for my own dog. James also explained Lillie’s reactions in ways that made sense to me. He helped me understand how dogs interpret situations and why being a calm, confident leader helps them feel safe. He was also knowledgeable about Lillie’s breed tendencies and incorporated that into her training. The change in Lillie has been incredible. Everything used to scare her. Now she ignores many things that once overwhelmed her. When something startles her she may bark once, but instead of reacting aggressively she turns back to my side and focuses on me for reassurance. Training helped her feel less anxious and more secure. Many trainers I spoke with previously pushed board and train programs right away, which was a hard no for me at the time. I could not imagine leaving Lillie anywhere. After working with James and building that trust, my perspective changed. I am now boarding both of my dogs at Midas Touch next month because I trust the environment and care they provide. I also appreciate that the dogs have the opportunity to spend time outdoors on real grass. Lillie will also continue training during this time, and I am excited to see what progress she can make working through things without me there in person. I think it is the next step she needs to feel more comfortable and confident in the world. If you have a reactive dog or a dog others may label as aggressive, it can feel overwhelming as an owner. James’s patience, knowledge, and ability to work with both the dog and the owner made a huge difference for us. I am very grateful for the progress Lillie has made and for the guidance James gave me along the way. He is simply the best.

We have a beautiful tiny precocious Jack Russell. She is a purebred and high strung. She turned 8 on Valentines Day. Faye doesn't like other dogs, is a relentless squirrel chaser, runs after other dogs barking like a fiend and is aggressive toward our grandsons. She went after the sweetest little chubby geriatric dog and brought blood. That was the limit and things had to change. It was literally a non-negotiable. We found James at MidasTouch and, while I was doubtful, we left her for two weeks. Honestly, I was relieved to have her out of the house. I needed a break. We traveled to Kearney and I was the last to get out of the car. Doubtful was an understatement. What I saw was James leading her through some exercises, having her heel, run through the track, bring the ball back. We left slightly encouraged and for the first time, hopeful. At the end of two weeks, we went to pick her up. James took the time to train us - which- in retrospect- made all the difference. Turns out we have a wonderful little fur person - the problem was us. We were not exerting our dominance and truthfully, she was begging for us to step up and relieve her of the chore. We led her through walking, stopping, heeling, sitting, practiced situations where she might feel aggressive...and James showed us the right way to handle her. It was nothing short of miraculous. To James, it was just another day at Midas Touch. To us, it was simply, life-changing. To say we recommend Midas Touch is an understatement. We feel like we found a pot of gold. We love our baby girl and she is now so happy. The crazy manic behaviors are gone. She rests quietly and sleeps like a zombie. When we walk her, it is peaceful and something we actually enjoy. WE CAN ENJOY OUR GIRL!! We cannot thank James and his team enough for making the changes we were desperate to see. Thank Heavens for Midas Touch! To say we are lifelong fans is an understatement. He is literally our hero and we love his work and expertise. Nothing compares to Midas Touch.
