We created a system involving a combination of balanced and positive reinforcement-based learning techniques. This makes training exciting and fun for your dog and leads them into wanting to perform well for you. They learn faster this way, which is why we’ve been able to accomplish in a week what other training companies take weeks or even months to teach. Leash manners, basic commands, mouthing, jumping, puppy basics, recall (to come when called), pack structure, reactivity, aggression, and impulse control are a few of the subjects we cover, with a special focus on the behaviors which are important to you. What’s more–and so crucial to our system’s success–we show you the techniques to make these new behaviors stick at home.

How often will my dog be out of the kennel?
With 12 training sessions a day, potty runs, and socialization periods, your dog is going to be out every hour, and by the end of the day is going to be ready for a good night sleep. These boot camps are very intensive and keep the dog focused on learning.

How effective are your board and training programs?
These programs are extremely effective and designed to work when the dog gets home. This is why we use a multi trainer method which teaches a system which we can then transferred to you at the end of the training session. Additionally we provide you with many tutorials and coaching sessions to help you carry on the wonderful new changes.

Mid-Michigan Academy Troy has been more than we have expected!! We brought our one year old pitbull terrier here for 2 weeks, and he is coming home with us as the dog we dreamed of training skills! We brought him for confidence training, social training, and basic training!! The entire staff and trainers were amazing, helpful, and very knowledgeable when telling them our wants and needs and what we wanted to change with our dog’s behavior and learning skills!! I definitely recommend this training academy for anyone looking for extra help to get their puppy/dogs the training that they need!! MMK9 continues to help me with a Doberman who had the unfortunate upbringing from owners who didn't know how to raise a Dobe. He loves them and I do and greatly appreciate them. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They are helping to shape my Rex into the dog I've always wanted, but was never able to achieve on my own. I am grateful.

We couldn’t be happier with the boarding and training Sky received at MMK9 Academy! Jim and his team are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, responsible, and detail-oriented—they never cut corners or take shortcuts. We loved receiving daily videos of our pup and knowing he was in such capable hands. Their facility is immaculate and super clean. They even bathed Sky before returning him to us and carefully followed all of our dietary instructions. I’m very particular about boarding facilities, and after this experience, Jim and the MMK9 Academy team are the only ones we will trust with Sky for any future boarding or training needs. Highly recommend!

We walked him around Frankenmuth and he was the best and most behaved dog in the entire city. This is a real review, no AI, paid requests or anything. 5 stars.
