Mid-Michigan K9 Academy - Saginaw

Very very happy with Mid-Michigan K9 Academy and Novas training, no longer pulls on leash and goes for walks with ease, no more jumping, mouthing, doesn't act wild or wanna play rough with other dogs. Does good with distractions on walks and only tried to get my couch pillow once but once command was used she dropped it and didn't try again. We continue to work on her drills and commands she has learned even if it's in the house of opening and closing doors to work on her wait drill. Very impressed

I highly recommend Mid-Michigan K9 Academy board and train, we are so happy with solving the car ride anxiety our Jake had our ride home after the stay was beautiful (and quite). They have helped and showed me how to do the correct obedience and what I can do to handle problems that may come up. The staff go out of their ways to help in anyway, stating even down the road if you have a problem don’t hesitate to contact them.

I've waited awhile to write a review, hoping my dogs behaviors would change after he got used to being home. They've changed, for the worse. I sent my GSD down for the one week board and train. I was called mid week saying they needed another week with my dog, thankfully it wasn't in the budget. When I picked him up he was missing about 6 inches of fur from the bottom of his tail, had a huge lump on the side of his face and a cut on his nose. I had to be the one to point out all of this to the trainer I was dealing with. None of it was noted in his "twice daily health checks"! The trainer went on to tell me how my dog made me want to pull her hair out and he was a hot mess. I received no lesson on how to continue training at home, instead she just screamed at my dog and gave him a few very overly aggressive what she called leash pops. I know what a leash pop is, that was not it. I spoke with the owner who after basically calling me a liar (didn't come out and say it but was defiantly implied) and his solution was for me to drive another 6 hours to take my dog back for a exit lesson with him and to be compensated for vet bills. The vet cost much less than the $1200 I wasted on these people, that's what would be nice to get back! And I certainly don't want my dog back in that place for the exit lesson I should have received the first time I was there. So now, I am out $1200 and have a dog that is more anxious and disobedient now than he was when I dropped him off. EDIT: Oh how I wish our phone calls would have been recorded! You said in the call that your trainer lacks skills to be personable, which was the only thing that I agreed with. Also, I sent you numerous pictures of his tail and face. It is not slander or false claims. If you would have investigated my claims you would have been able to tell me how my dog was injured. Watching the video from the lack of training I received is not enough. We both agreed that the person doing the exit training could have done much better. I already stated that you offered for me to drive back down 6 hours for another training session. However I also stated to you on the phone that I do not feel that your facility is a safe place for my dog to be. Pretty funny how anyone who complains about your horrible service basically receives the same generic answer. I urge people to do more extensive research on this place. I did after seeing how m dog was after I brought him home and regret not doing it sooner. The google reviews are the only good thing about this place.
