We focus on not only training your dog but teaching owners how to best communicate with their dogs and help them overcome common behavioral issues. Communication is the key. It is our firm belief that dogs learn from being motivated to learn. All of Michael’s Pack trainers are certified professional dog trainers, schooled in positive reinforcement training. Some feel that you can get a dog to “listen” by using heavy handed techniques but that’s not us. We want you to have a happy dog and a wonderful relationship with your pet. Relationship-based dog training creates trust and mutual respect. The team at Michael’s Pack uses only humane, positive-reinforcement training methods. No fear-based training.

My rescue dog, Lexie, and I train with Nikki and OMG I am so lucky that she is Lexie’s trainer. We started up about over a year ago now with Nikki when Lexie was around 7 months old. Lexie was a pretty easy to train dog at first, she is naturally very calm-tempered and Nikki taught me great techniques to further help socialize and calm her down from puppy overstimulation and excitement the first few months. Let me begin by saying Nikki is probably the best dog trainer I have ever heard of, worked with, or seen. She is creative, compassionate, understanding, accommodating, very intelligent and knowledgeable, supportive, easy to work with. just all the greatest adjectives you could think of that associate with dog trainers. Her techniques are some I really have never seen before in typical dog training, but let me tell you they’re effective as hell! Slowly I’ve been seeing them more on the internet when I look stuff up, but she is a big advocate for enrichment activities and meeting a dog’s needs to work out their energy and entertain them enough day to day. She was so helpful with getting me into a good routine with Lexie at first since she is my first ever dog. But, she eventually contracted giardia last year and was diagnosed around mid-July, and we had to take a pause from training for awhile. Nikki was very helpful with navigating vets and keeping Lexie’s needs met and under routine during this hard time, but it was stressful. Unfortunately, our pause continued into September, and Nikki did come for a session but she gently pointed out to me that Lexie’s issues seemed much more than just giardia. Lexie took a nosedive in cognitive ability, she wasn’t able to train anymore and it wasn’t sticking no matter what Nikki or I tried. She seemed to be in pain and my family, Nikki, me, and even Lexie’s primary vet were stumped. So, with some advice from Nikki, I took Lexie to multiple vets up to now to try to get some clarity on her issues. Nikki even recommended me an amazing vet behaviorist that provided some clarity. But, again, we had to pause Lexie’s training for even longer this time. However, Nikki’s techniques to calm and soothe Lexie have really helped both Lexie and I through this challenging time with her health issues. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Nikki’s recommendations both for Lexie’s health, behavior management, and training, my family and I may have had to sadly give Lexie back to the rescue she came from. But we persisted and now we are in the best position possible with Lexie’s health issues (I also want to add Nikki recommended another great vet consult that helped give some more clarity on her issues!) and we are back up again with training with Nikki. I am so happy I chose to train with Michael’s Dog Pack, as not only have I found an amazing trainer for Lexie that loves her but I’d say also a friend that I confide in every time something is going wrong with Lexie. Nikki is in general an amazing, hard-working, intelligent, and kind person, I believe anyone would be lucky to work with her. She really is so open with all breeds of dogs, mutts and purebreds alike, she will help you form and customize your training routine and care routine for your dog and always be eager to answer extra questions. I love that she is not a “one size fits all” type dog trainer, she will customize until it’s perfect for you and your family. She provides amazing resources and will really also teach not just your dog valuable training and behavior lessons but also you. I cannot recommend her or Michael’s Dog Pack enough, thank you Nikki for everything you do!!
Nikki is amazing! We rescued a two year old American Bully that was severely neglected. His anxiety level was always at a 10, walking out the door would cause him barking and jump on the door. Nikki was so patient and worked with us on strategies to divert him from the anxiety starting. Introduced us to calming enrichments. We highly recommend Nikki! Barbara and Greg

Nikki worked with us for 8 sessions to teach us how to calm our 7 yr. old Old English Sheepdog who was nervous around our grandchildren, barking at them and once in a while nipping at them. We learned so much from her about dog behavior and methods for calming her down and removing her mentally from their distractions. When it was appropriate, we included our grandchildren in the sessions. We all loved Nikki and we’re sorry to see our sessions end with her. She is incredibly knowledgeable in understanding dogs. She was a great listener too and answered all of our questions.
