Last week I took Method K9’s Train the trainer 1.0 workshop. It was an amazing opportunity and I’m so glad I decided to go. I'm so grateful to Stephanie for opening up her facility to educate and share her knowledge with trainers like me. I'm leaving with a lot of clarity, new ideas/ techniques, and forever friends. Stephanie does a lot of things differently than what I'm used to/ learned from other trainers but I LOVE that. There's so many ways to train a dog. And I want to educate myself as much as I can to know a variety of skill sets, so if one method doesn't seem to be working I can try something else. So much information to process, but somethings we covered were: classical conditioning, operant conditioning, counter conditioning, hormones, obedience, resource guarding, social media, all things business, displacement/appeasement behaviors, play, massage, drives, recall, socialization, e collar (escape/avoidance), and body language. I loved learning through a behavioral lense and can't wait to go back for 2.0.

After searching for a train the trainer program for a long time I chose MethodeK9. I am absolutely glad I did, I’m very happy with the class, the facility and the hands on training that I experienced. Stephanie, the owner and lead Instructor is a master level instructor that did an amazing job of teaching, guiding and coaching her students. With the training and experience I gained during Train the Trainer 1.0 I have the confidence and ability to better train client dogs and help shelter dogs thrive.

At 66, I’m not looking to start a training business; my goal was to gain a deeper understanding of canine psychology to better assist struggling pet owners and improve my relationship with my own dog. I wanted to enhance communication with my dog on her terms, rather than trying to make her more "human-like"—in essence, to become "more dog-like" myself. MethodK9 provided the insights I needed to become a more effective advocate for the industry, bridging the "WHY gap" of the reasons dogs behave the way they do using historical context and proven theories of animal behavior. I attended method k9’s train the trainer program 1.0 & 2.0. The things I have learned and the experience I have had here has been absolutely incredible. The opportunity to learn from Stephanie & everyone at method k9 has been world changing. The most genuine people that are so dedicated to helping dogs and people learn an grow together.
