We decided to do the 4-week board and train program with our large-breed dog, Nala, who was fearful and reactive toward people. Before training, Nala would bark and lunge at visitors in our home and fixate on them the entire time they were there. She was also reactive toward people who approached us on walks. Given her size, these behaviors were not sustainable for us, so we turned to Maximum K9 for help.
We were paired with Rosemarie, who is an amazing trainer and was an absolute pleasure to work with. It was clear that she built an incredible relationship with Nala and really helped her gain confidence. She taught Nala (and us!) the skills to navigate situations that make her uncomfortable, along with commands like heel, place, and stay.
Today, having visitors enter our home looks completely different. Nala calmly waits on her place board while guests come inside and is able to peacefully coexist with them. She certainly doesn’t love strangers now by any means, and we never expected training to change who she is, but she is obedient, more confident, and has the skills to navigate new or scary situations without immediately reacting.
Just as importantly, I now have so much more confidence in Nala and feel much more comfortable taking her out in public and having people over our home. The difference from where we started is huge, and we are incredibly grateful to Rosemarie for everything she did for Nala and for us.
I would 100% recommend Maximum K9 and Rosemarie to anyone looking for help with their dog!

Hailey is knowledgeable, patient, and has a true talent for teaching both dogs and their owners. She helped Bolt master heel, place, and leave it—even with real-life distractions. Seeing Bolt remain focused and responsive around other dogs, people, and tempting distractions has been amazing.
What I appreciated most was Hailey’s ability to explain the “why” behind each exercise and coach me through the training so I felt confident continuing it at home. The training was positive, structured, and tailored to set us up for long-term success.
This training delivered real results and I look forward to continuing our training journey through the other offered programs!

Working with Maximum K9 has been such a great experience. We’ve tried other approaches before (drop off training and at home training) with not much progression on our key behavioral issues that we were having at home with our dog. It wasn’t until working with Coach Katie did we start to understand the holes in our previous attempts at training. Maximum K9 and our coach helped establish a strong foundational base for our dog’s specific behavioral goals. Katie really helped gear each lesson to get our dog to the next level while also providing a very detailed overview of what was done in that lesson. Keeping up with the homework that was assigned between each class helped to keep us on track with our dogs training and Katie made sure to keep us accountable for our half of the work which was very motivating to have someone so invested in your progress. They have so many options on what package and training best suits your dog with additional training available after you’ve completed the basics. Overall great training facility with a wealth of knowledge, definitely would recommend Maximum K9 anyone that is need of help with their dogs training and behavior.
