Matan Dog Training

We had an amazing experience with Matan and the staff. Our boy Kobe is year old cane corco rescued from the shelter, didn’t know how to walk outside and had a hard time communicate with other dogs and people. We decided to take the two week training camp and they did amazing with him. I must say we had concerns and doubts but Matan and his staff made us feel very comfortable with the decision and that he’s in good hands. The dog came back happy and totally obeys orders. Even after the two weeks was over they are still part of the process and there for every questions we have. Very professional team and place you can definitely tell they love dogs and their job. I’m highly recommend to check it out!

I'm someone who actually never writes reviews until now, as that's how excellent matan dog training is and couldn't recommend them more highly ! I brought my 4 month old Rottweiler puppy Talia to Matan for a consultation after doing a lot of research on different trainers and they stood out to me . Starting with the consultation it was everything I hoped for where he listened in detail to the troubles I was having and my personal situation and what I was expecting to achieve . I felt very comfortable leaving Talia with Matan Dog Training for the 2 week board and train , the staff is extremely friendly and Talia absolutely loves them ! They provided regular video & text Updates on the training and did a halfway one hour training session and a training session at the end when I picked her up . Prior to bringing her to Matan's, Talia had a great temperament and loving personality, but there were many struggles as well, even for an experienced larger breed dog owner . Since bringing Talia home after the 2 week board and train it is like night and day ! a total positive change in so many areas.... overall basic obedience and calmness , understanding of commands , her confidence , socialization with other dogs and exceptional leash training when on walks to the point where you can show it off to others ! I'm going to be taking Talia back to Matan's for group training going forward to continue to reinforce what she's learned as well as advance her training even further . I highly highly recommend them !!!

BEST IN THE BUSINESS! I spent a solid month researching and connecting with different trainers and couldn't be happier with Matan Dog Training! My pup came from a shelter where he was euth-listed for being aggressive. A rescue pulled him from the shelter after interacting with him and seeing he was mainly anxious/scared/high energy. Around the time I took him to Matan Dog Training, walks were impossible - he would bark/lunge at people, try to chase down bikes/motorcycles, show teeth especially at kids, and literally drag me down the street. I couldn't have anyone over to my house and I gave up on dog walkers who complained about how difficult he was outside the home. Jump to now (a month out of a 3 week board and train) - I can take him ANYWHERE. He focuses on me, follows commands, and doesn't enter/exit a door without a command. He still gets excited around other dogs and people, but has learned to control his energy and look to me for commands to interact. My friends and family can't believe this is the same dog!! The entire staff at Matan's is TOP notch! Matan was honest with me during the consultation and explained why my dog would need 3 weeks in training. Each week, when I attended a private training session, I saw the progress he initially outlined for me and he was spot on! Most importantly, the methods he uses are all positive and focus on redirecting the dog's focus to the owner. So many other trainers use shock collars/punishment/pain and I was not on board with that AT ALL. Matan's office staff was super responsive. Spencer kept me updated almost daily with my dog's progress. He answered all of my questions (even on weekends/odd hours) and was super accommodating of my work schedule when scheduling 1:1 training sessions. Rafael (my dog's primary trainer) was AWESOME! He really loves dogs and treated my dog like his own. He made the training principles easy to understand and explained to me what behaviors to anticipate when I transition my dog home and how to correct them. And most impressive, he picked up on the subtle changes I needed to make (like tone of voice, where to stand, etc) that broke the bad habits I created in the past and made my dog follow me. Seriously worth EVERY penny!!

When I rescued my puppy he was severely insecure and scared of almost everything. Over time, my biggest concern came to fruition when he started to become reactive to other dogs while on the leash. He was so clearly inhibited by his fear and anxiety to the point that he could not truly enjoy all the things dogs love to do. He went to Matan’s board and train for 3 weeks and we now participate in group sessions and private lessons. My dog has done a complete 180 since. He shows interest in other dogs and people, listens to commands, can tolerate loud noises and scary places, and as a result, is so much happier and more confident. I am so grateful to Matan and his team for helping my dog reach his full potential and confidence, while also teaching me how to best support him in his continued progress. Their patience, guidance, and expertise is unmatched. It’s truly life changing.
