Maryland K9 Training

Partly our fault since we didn’t do enough research but when my family adopted a reactive GSD mix earlier this year we didn’t know what we were getting into! A month or two in we considered returning her since the walks were exhausting and we would walk her during off hours to avoid every dog or person in the neighborhood. That being said after our initial assessment with Kyle and talking with Labrina over the phone we saw a chance that things could be more manageable. Fast forward after 6 sessions the walks are very manageable! Given there are off days however we can walk confidently pass people and with some distance dogs. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but working with Kyle and Labrina puts you in a good position to continue on with your dogs training. Set up an appointment for a consultation with my dog for Sunday 8/15 at 3pm. Well the morning of 8/15 comes and get a text confirming my appointment, I reply when I wake up and confirm the appointment. Well 3pm comes and he hasn’t shown up, we figured he was just running a bit behind so we wait, 3:30 comes and I had called him off my phone, I got sent directly to voicemail. Call again figuring he was maybe on another call or busy and yet again I get sent straight to voicemail. So I had my boyfriend call off of his phone and his call goes through and is just left to ring, so my phone number was blocked and he had zero intention of showing up for the appointment. Absolutely unprofessional and unreliable. Go elsewhere. Really wish I could give them zero stars because that is what they deserve.

We contacted Maryland K9 Training after our dog attacked our foster dog. We knew we needed help immediately. Kyle and Labrina were getting booked, but they listened to our situation and made time for us outside of their schedule. I knew at that point that they were truly in it to help the dogs and their owners. Kyle came out for our free evaluation (an entire hour FREE—you can’t get that anywhere, folks) and for the first time in a year of owning Finch, he was CALM. No jumping, chasing the cats, or nipping after just our evaluation. My husband and I were in shock. Kyle also offered to work with our other dogs for no extra cost, which is not common with other trainers. So far, we have had two more sessions with Kyle, and we are seeing drastic improvements with our dogs. In fact, I was waiting to post a review until the end of our training, but our trip to PetCo today prompted me to write the review now. We were actually able to walk with two of our dogs through PetCo without them pulling or causing a scene. Finch didn’t try to grab every treat in sight or lunge at other dogs. Bowie stayed by my side. I can’t recommend Maryland K9 training enough. Kyle is professional, always on time, and super friendly!
