My 9 year old rescue (Labrador Retriever) had anxiety and was very reactive (barking, lunging, growling) when around other dogs. He is just great around people (both children and adults). It got to the point where I could no longer take him anywhere; not even for a walk outside. Taking him to the Vet and to the groomer became a scary experience for him and for me because of his reactive behaviors. My Veterinarian highly recommended I give Mandy K9 a try because she is specially trained, very knowledgeable and experienced and only uses positive reinforcement methods. I signed up for the 4 session individual lessons where my dog and I met for classes with her. She gave me very easy instructions which I practiced daily with my dog at home. At the 4th session she brought her dog in and we practiced with the training methods we’d learned in the 3 previous sessions. It was a miracle! My dog ended up laying down, rolled over upside down (a very vulnerable position for a dog) and did very well both inside and outside in the session that day with her dog nearby. My dog can now sit, shake, shake with the other paw, lay down, roll over, heal, sit/stay, down/stay, touch (nose to my hand), leave it, take it, wait, stand, stay, focus on me, etc. I plan to go back for a 4 session group class where there will be 3 other dogs and their owners where my dog (and I) can practice even more skills. The Trainer is excellent and I would highly recommend her to everyone. Your dog doesn’t have to have “Problem behaviors” to go there. You can go there to learn to train your dog to prevent problem behaviors too.
