Lucky Star Dog Training

We cannot recommend Lucky Star Dog Training & Boarding enough! Our one-year-old Boston Terrier, Darla, is the sweetest girl, but before training, she struggled with distractibility, impulsivity, and excitement. She could also be quite demanding, which made everyday life a bit more challenging. Walks were a chore in her first year. She would constantly lay flat, get distracted, or lose focus. She frequently jumped on people to greet them, which became a concern when we had small toddlers around. At home, she would incessantly use her paws to demand pets and would often steal belongings and run off with them. Since completing her training, our days at home have been filled with so much more peace! Darla relaxes beautifully in her “place” near us, and she is an absolute ROCK STAR on walks. She hasn’t used her paws to claw at us for attention even once since coming home, and her jumping and stealing-and-running habits have completely stopped. We will say that we have been consistent about continuing her training at home, but the foundation Lucky Star built with her has made continuing her training a breeze. We’ve actually thoroughly enjoyed the process and spending intentional time with her since she’s been home. We are so grateful for the transformation in Darla and for the skills we’ve learned along the way. I would recommend Lucky Star again and again. We will absolutely be using them for boarding in the future, and if we ever need training services again, they will be the first people we call.

We truly cannot recommend Lucky Star Dog Training enough. Sending Blue for board and train was hands down the best investment we could have made for him. The transformation has been incredible. Blue is still the same sweet, playful, cuddly puppy we fell in love with, but now he is also confident, responsive, and such a joy to take anywhere. One of the biggest changes we noticed is that he is no longer attached only to me. He has built such a wonderful bond with my husband, and it has been amazing to watch. It has made life so much easier and more enjoyable for all of us. Since completing training, we have traveled with Blue, and he has been incredible every step of the way. He behaved beautifully at the airport, on the plane, at the beach, and throughout our entire trip. Being able to confidently take him anywhere has completely changed our lives. He listens so well while still being the same happy, playful, affectionate dog we have always known. I also want to mention something that I was honestly very nervous about before training, the e-collar. I had a lot of concerns and was worried about using one. Jen and Aaron took the time to explain everything, introduce it the right way, and teach us how to use it fairly and consistently. Now I completely understand that it is not about the collar itself. It is about the communication and the foundation behind it. Blue is not afraid of it at all. He still gets excited for walks, loves training, and is just as cuddly, goofy, and full of personality as ever. It has simply given us a way to communicate with him clearly while giving him so much more freedom. We are so grateful to Jen and Aaron. Thank you for caring so much about your dogs and for setting both the dogs and their owners up for long term success. We could not be happier with the experience, and we recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking to give their dog the best possible start.

Wow, I would give 10 stars if I could! Our lab puppy was trained by Aaron and Jen and it totally changed our lives. She has always been the sweetest dog but needed boundaries and to learn how to live in our house with lots of commotion. We have been blown away by how she is thriving at home with the skills she’s learned and how much more fun it is to have her with us when we’re out and about. This training was worth every penny and we will continue to do refreshers and boarding. Highly recommend Lucky Star!

Before attending the 3 week board and train Rex was a happy goofy off the wall puppy. He didn’t understand that not everything was a threat that needed a good barking at. On walks he would bark at people, chase after anything that moved and frequently not listen to me when I would say no. I arrived for pickup and Aaron showed me what he had learned, he not only listened he was eager to follow the instructions!! I was shocked to say the least. He not only listens to commands but he’s even happier and goofier than before, I now have the confidence to take him anywhere, the training is a game changer and the e collar isn’t an enemy it’s a way to communicate! If anyone is on the fence about doing the b&t pull the trigger!! You and your pup will be much happier!!
