Logic Driven Canine Training

I sent my 6 month old Labrador retriever puppy to training at logic driven canine and he was trained by Marisa, I have nothing but great things to say about her! My lab was definitely a challenge for us to train on our own so with many recommendations we went to Joe and his team looking for help. Marisa was nothing but kind to us and very good at helping us establish what out goals were with the puppy. I have horses as well and wanted to make sure he was going to be well behaved around them so she took the liberty of meeting me at the farm while he was in his training to desensitize him to the horses. Our dog has been " graduated" from the training program for about 8 months now and Marisa has always kept in touch and made herself available for follow up lessons with me and my dog when need be. I highly recommend Joe and Marisa, they are the best you can find!!

I brought my rescue Husky mix Tony to Logic Canine in December for a 4 week stay. If you know anything about Huskies they have a mind of their own. Tony was jumping fences the weekend before he left! Joe evaluated Tony, and shared based on their being no male in the house it would be best he trained with Marisa. I left very comfortable and confident that Tony would be in the best hands and come back a different dog. I cannot say enough about Marisa’s skill sets when it comes to working with/ training dogs. After four weeks, Tony came back walkable, listening to commands, having the ability to go off leash, Learning how to walk with his stim collar & prong collar on. He was treated amazingly, he was on a treadmill, Marisa even brought him to Greenwich Avenue where he loves to walk, but was Completely out of control prior to her training. Tony can now walk the Ave, yes there are still some husky tantrums but nothing like before. Tony is a new dog!! We loved the training by Marisa so much we have referred her/Logic Canine to multiple dog owners who have sent their dogs & shared similar experiences. My mom is going to be sending her lab asap as well! We HIGHLY recommend Marisa!

10/5 STARS! I made the decision to send my 2 year old heeler/pyr mix after struggling with his reactivity for over a year. Zion pulled like hell and was reactive to most dogs, strangers in close proximity, skateboards, rollerblades, a plastic bag if the wind blew it the wrong way…you name it. He would lunge, snarl, bark, and redirect on to me in his worst moments. After wasting an obscene amount of time and money on trainers, programs and behaviorists, saying I had my fill of dog experts would probably be the understatement of the century. I originally found Joe through my heeler group and hearing their success stories, I decided to take the plunge. I can HAPPILY report it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Joe really took the time to not only listen to my concerns, but he also took the time to understand my dog and all of his quirks. He tailored a program that would address Zion’s problem areas while managing expectations, and giving me an honest and realistic outcome of the training. No frills. No gimmicks. After a 4 week board and train, Zion came back home a well-mannered and less-anxious dog. He walks calmly on leash and responds to commands, even in the face of triggers. He doesn’t react impulsively but instead is learning to navigate stressful situations with the tools he learned at boarding. A life-changing experience!

We thought we could handle the training ourselves but a few private lessons with another trainer and 100s of videos later without seeing much improvement made us realize we needed a professional. The idea of sending Salem away to a Board-and- Train program for four weeks in addition to the financial commitment was very daunting, but we are so happy he went as the results have been life changing for all of us. Salem, a German Shepherd/Malinois mix rescue, suffered from very bad separation anxiety. He had a tooth extraction and chipped many others trying to chew his way out of the crate in transport from Texas. His obedience was not consistent, he would heel when he felt like it, but his reactivity to dogs and people was our major concern. We walked him off hours and stayed inside the house to avoid dogs and people and did not have visitors come to our home. We learned of Joe from neighbors who had nothing but great things to say about him, but we knew we had to use him after Salem’s evaluation visit. Joe took the time to observe Salem’s behavior, ask questions and explain the program that would work best for him. It was very evident to us that Joe knew what he was doing, understood Salem’s issues and was experienced working with dogs like Salem. He was professional and made us feel comfortable with the program and his methods. Joe solidified Salem’s obedience (sit, down, place, out) in no time and had him heeling nicely within a couple of days but what most impressed us was Joe’s ability to immediately understand Salem’s reactivity triggers and come up with solutions. Joe truly cares about the success of his students, which was obvious when he spent three and a half hours demonstrating Salem’s abilities and training us during his drop-off. Joe went above and beyond and stayed as long as he needed to make sure we were comfortable handling Salem and understood how to deal with potential tough situations. Joe is knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated to training dogs. We are forever grateful and highly recommend him and the Logic Driven Training team.

Joe and his team are the best! We sent our very energetic and rebellious catahpula mix to Joe for a month, and we were hopeful that our dog, Apple Pie, would improve from the program. To say she improved is a vast understatement. She’s still our energetic Apple, but so much better in every way. When Apple came home, Joe spent hours with us discussing our planned approach and how to set Apple up for success and our life with Apple is 100% better thanks to all of his great work and support. She is calm, behaved, and simply a joy. The stressors we used to have with her around other dogs, people, and cars are gone. We very highly recommend you meet with Joe if you are looking for training help!
