Hi Janna, I can understand that you are disappointed that we had to shave down Louie for his groom. Unfortunately, his coat was in terrible condition and extremely matted. Some of his mats were so tight to the skin that they were causing skin irritation. We had two options. Option one is to shave him down, like we did, so that you can start over and learn how to take proper care of a doodle coat. Option two would have been to reschedule his groom to an entire day where we could work on dematting him. This would have cost you hundreds of dollars, due to the time required to demat a dog in that condition. Even worse, would be the discomfort and pain he would have gone through. He would have hated grooming forever (I believe this was his first groom at six months old.) And, it would have been inhumane. We will not put a dog through such an uncomfortable process. Our first priority is the health and well-being of the dogs in our care, even if it means that we lose a customer. Louie needs daily brushing and combing and I hope you begin doing so. His hair will grow back and you have an opportunity to take proper care of it. I’m sorry that you are disappointed that we did the best thing for Louie.

Hi Janice, can you confirm that you are reviewing the correct company? We do not offer any program that is specific to Golden Retrievers. I cannot find you in our system.
