Learning to Dog Training and Enrichment

Marsha is simply the BEST. In June 2022 I brought home an 8 week old mini bernedoodle, Frankie. I enrolled her in puppy class and puppy preschool and we've been working with Marsha ever since. Marsha takes the time to train both the owner and the dog. I feel confident taking what I've learned in class and lessons with home with me and practicing skills outside of class. Marsha finds unique ways to meet me and Frankie where we're at. If Frankie is feeling overstimulated, Marsha offers solutions and tweaks to what class is learning. She understands Frankie and her unique personality and ensures that she is set up for success. Marsha helps me celebrate both big and small wins and I feel so proud of all that Frankie and I have learned. Neither Frankie or I would be the same without her. One of my favorite things about Marsha is how much she cares about relationships between dogs and their humans. She ensures that I'm always working to build a better bond with Frankie and uses that to guide our training in a fear-free approach.

Marsha is an excellent teacher!! We have taken two classes with her - Learning to Puppy and Tricks with Clicks - and we are planning to take more. Both classes were engaging, practical and enjoyable with our puppy. Marsha offers such a kind, respectful & science-backed approach to training. She explains what to do and also explains why, and I always appreciated her feedback during class. Our puppy, Daisy, loves her, which I think speaks volumes. We highly recommend Learning to Dog! Is it too dramatic to say that Marsha "saved our lives"?! We were *exhausted* and deep in the trenches of "puppy help" Google searches going nowhere fast when we reached out to Marsha. In just one home visit, I felt like our relationship to our 12-week old puppy changed. We loved that Marsha explained Lu's behavior and needs using research-based strategies. When she left, we felt so much less overwhelmed and more in control of how we were going to work on potty training, biting, etc. Needless to say, we ended up signing up for Learning to Dog's puppy day care where Lulu continued to blossom! It's hard to believe she was once afraid of other dogs, sounds, and textures because now she is ~very~ brave and bold. This is all thanks to Marsha and her intentional work introducing pups to the world in a way that feels safe and fun. Our Lu is going to live a much happier life because we worked with Marsha.
