My pup, T, has a long history of dog aggression and some reactivity to humans as well. Living with her had become incredibly challenging since her reactivity made it impossible to bring her anywhere, and her anxiety made it next to impossible to live with her in the house. We tried several types of at-home training methods, but with few results. After her 5 week stay at Leader of the Pack, Trace is like a whole new dog! Spending time with her is fun for the first time in years! She is responsive to commands and is able to disengage from things that used to make her histerical. We thought that change was impossible and that we had run out of options, but Mark, Jen and the team at Leader of the Pack have given Trace and my family the tools to better communicate and enjoy each other’s company. My husband and I can’t say enough about Mark and his team at Leader of the Pack. We were referred to him by some coworkers of mine after a near fatal dog fight between two of our own. After over a month of healing from wounds and surgeries, the dogs couldn’t even see each other 50 feet away without barking and growling like crazy. We didn’t think there was any hope. Mark didn’t promise us that we could eventually be a family again, but he said he’d try. We sent our then eight month old pit bull puppy to a five week “boot camp” and I didn’t even recognize him when we went to visit five weeks later. Not only were basic skills much improved, his manners and reactivity was through the roof improved. The first time we brought both the dogs together, Mark guided us through a walk around the neighborhood and some time on leash. The dogs didn’t even growl!!! Not once!! We are still in for a lot of work, but I’m confident we will have one big happy dog family again, thanks to Mark. Seriously. No way we could’ve done this without him. Take every dog you have there!

We are very pleased with Mark and his Leader of the Pack live-in training. Phyllis our ACD was deemed by certain pup circles as aggressive and we arrived at the point where we had very little control over her outbursts and needed help! Although we know she’s a sweetheart and wouldn’t take it any further than loud barking, her bark is enough to put enough fear in a lot of folks. For the past month philly has been staying with mark to receive the full extent of his live-in training. She is now listening to her learned cues and has definitely progressed in her obedience training. We have a much different pup at home now but we’ll also give ourselves some credit for listening to what mark taught us in being a better pup parent!

We’ve been working with Mark at Leader of the Pack Dog Training since 2010. There’s no one else I’d go to for dog training. In fact, I use their live-in training for boarding when we go out of town. Early this year we adopted a 2 year-old cattle dog who barked at people. Then social distancing started and this behavior became a lot worse. A month ago I spoke with Mark on the phone and he was amazing. He didn’t just lecture me. He empowered me. It was the perfect balance between confidence building and teaching. He reminded me of everything we learned from him with our previous dog. We made a plan and worked our plan. There was instant improvement. Now four weeks later I took her for a 5 mile walk where we encountered countless people, kids, dogs, bikes, scooters, skateboards, motorized contraptions, and loud music. My dog handled all of it like a pro. Not a single gruff, bark, growl, or lunge. The day before we took her to a fenceless dog park. I needed to get something from the car so I put her in a sit-stay. She held it. At the dog park!!! If you want this with your dog it is possible. It’s a lot of work and training is never done, but it’s worth it and Leader of the Pack can give you the tools you need to get you and your dog where you want to be.
