Lavaca River Ranch Dog Training and Kenneling services specializes in training hunting dogs and kenneling with concierge care in a very unique and beautiful environment along the Lavaca River adjacent to Vanderbilt, Texas in Jackson County. We also sell game birds including quail, chukar, pheasant, and Rio Grande Turkey. In addition, we sell round hay bales when available. Visitation by appointment only.

Took my miniature Aussie to Michael for obedience training and super happy with the outcome. She came out still as playful as when she went in, just a lot smarter and attentive. I would recommend 100%
My dogs were lucky enough to experience such a great stay. Michael & Chris we’re both awesome , answering any and all questions I had. This was my first time boarding any of my dogs in 8 years of ownership & they were allowed to free roam almost as if they were home. Nothing can beat that. This will be my place of choice from now on for my babies.
Michael is a spectacular all-around dog trainer. He was amazing with my hunting dog and I have personally watched him bring other dogs back from serious psychological issues. Whether you have a house pet or a hunting dog, you should use Lavaca River Ranch. Thanks guys!

We took our dogs to Michael back in 2021 (when they were just pups) for basic obedience and retriever training. While we don’t hunt with them, retrieving is their favorite “game” — where they are working and honoring the other’s “hunt”. Each summer since then, they’ve gone back to Michael (at his new place, Lavaca River Ranch) for a touch up before we take them hiking and adventuring through the mountains. We constantly get compliments on how well they are trained and how good they are. Michael really has a way with training dogs (and their humans) and I couldn’t recommend him more!
