Five years ago my husband and I brought home a dog from the shelter who had come with A LOT of baggage. Boaz is a pit bull with loads of anxiety and dog aggression. We had hired a trainer that was recommended to us and their techniques had failed miserably. We were tired and frustrated and nothing was working. Boaz ended up biting another dog. I reached out to the trainer and her answer was, " well, not all dogs are meant to be around other dogs." I could kind of understand that, but Boaz DID like some other dogs! There had to be another way! We never heard from that trainer again. I was very, very disappointed. By this time, we were in love with him and invested 100%. He was a good boy! We just knew it! Then..... I was introduced to Chelsea. She quickly got him into her board and train program. He was with her for 4 weeks. Afterward, he came home another dog! He was calmer and way more obedient. Chelsea gave us all the tools we needed to handle our boy. 4 years later, we have not had any other instances. Chelsea has been with us every step of the way. Any time I have a question, she is always friendly and eager to offer a solution. Since he does like some other dogs, I was considering getting another dog. My husband was totally against it! I knew in my heart that when the right dog came along...1) we would just know, and 2) Chelsea would be there to help us through any situation. Well, we were not actively looking for another when we were presented with rescuing a female (he loves the ladies) pit bull. I immediately reached out to Chelsea. She promptly got back to me with tips on how to go about the meet and greet. We almost did it all wrong!!! Boaz showed no aggression so we decided to try overnight. It went fantastic! They played and played! We had even named her Smokie. She's a pup and kind of an instigator. But he was handling her very well! A few days into it however, he started showing signs of resource dominance and always wanting to hump her. He did get rather aggressive with her a couple times. Rather than get all anxious, I knew exactly what to do.....call Chelsea!!! Chelsea gave me practical and tangible advice that has worked! We have been living in harmony ever since! Do not give up on your dog. They need you. And you need them. Hold your head up high, be confident, breath, stay calm, and have an AMAZING trainer like Chelsea in your back pocket. Let her help you fill your toolbox with all the things so you can have a bright and fun future with your amazing dog...or dogs!!!!
