FirstBarkKim's K-9 was an excellent place for dog training. They care about dogs and their owners and want to see dog owners succeed. I would highly recommend them!

With more than 30 years of business in West Michigan, Kim's K-9 is a fun and friendly center for dog boarding, training and doggie daycare. Founders Kim, expert trainer, and husband Brian Steffes opened the current Center in Kentwood, Michigan in March 1996. Lifelong residents of the Grand Rapids area and avid dog lovers, Kim and Brian have created lasting relationships with clients and their wonderful pets. Kim and Brian sold the business to their long-standing employee and friend, Martha Wiltse, in 2021. She carries on their values! The facility offers a safe and clean environment with multiple indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as flexible hours and a convenient location, just off of Broadmoor Ave. SE, near 28th St.

I highly recommend Kim's K-9 Puppy Kindergarten classes! They are much more than just learning some simple commands. I found that they are one of the few Kdg. classes that does include socialization among the puppies in a safe controlled environment - socialization is so very important!! Safety tips, Health tips and training tips are a big part of the class, but Kim also demonstrated some grooming techniques and had us practice how to give our dogs a pill! So much was covered in the 6 week sessions! She really focused on training us how to train our puppies! Kim's demonstrations were amazing, and she has set up an environment so the pups are exposed to things like walkers and a wheelchair! I came to class with my little chihuahua puppy, and Kim readily made the necessary adjustments for my tiny little girl to participate! I am so very impressed with Kim's K-9, and I'm glad my puppy and I graduated from their Kdg. classes!
Fantastic boarding experience for my pup, even after years away. Super knowledgeable staff, and an awesome set-up for letting the pooches play safely. We'll definitely be boarding here again.
