About Kim's K-9
With more than 30 years of business in West Michigan, Kim's K-9 is a fun and friendly center for dog boarding, training and doggie daycare. Founders Kim, expert trainer, and husband Brian Steffes opened the current Center in Kentwood, Michigan in March 1996. Lifelong residents of the Grand Rapids area and avid dog lovers, Kim and Brian have created lasting relationships with clients and their wonderful pets. Kim and Brian sold the business to their long-standing employee and friend, Martha Wiltse, in 2021. She carries on their values! The facility offers a safe and clean environment with multiple indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as flexible hours and a convenient location, just off of Broadmoor Ave. SE, near 28th St.

The first day of puppy class was a success. We received beneficial advice on how to have a happy puppy and happy us. I recommend Kim’s K-9 totally. Staff is warm and so helpful and you can tell they love their job. Bootcamp for Lacey was great. The trainer Beck was great with Lacey and our training. We have a different dog than what we brought in that first day. Lacey is still spunky but we know how to work with her so that we can take her with us and enjoy her.
The day training program with Sam transformed my dog in 3 weeks. My dog enjoyed the training and loves that our walks are more fun. I wish I would have done it sooner. I thought leash pulling was forever.
We have been going to Kim’s K9 since 1998. Our dogs have gone through their puppy class, training, daycare, and boarding. We have always had a great experience. Our dogs get excited to be there. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. I highly recommend their services!!

We have been using Kim’s K-9 for at least the last 5 of our 8 dogs, if not more, and we absolutely love them. We have done training, boarding, and what we call “stay and play” (daycare). Our current puppies, Karli and Bentley, cannot wait for their weekly road trip to Kim’s. By the time we pull in the driveway at Kim’s they are out of control with excitement. The staff has always been great and unbelievably supportive and accommodating in times of family emergencies. We would highly recommend them (and we do this) to anyone!
