I left my 8 month old puppy, who is an American Stafford mix at Kevlar K9. My puppy could not sit still or obey commands constantly before making the decision as the owner to take him to Kevlar K9. When I took him for the orientation they were very understanding of my concerns and they were very patient in explaining the details and tools that went into their training. Finally, when I picked him up after his boarding and training experience, I can say I have a brand new dog. He is obedient and gentle with people, we can spend a lot more time with him without him causing any problems, and is just overall a great dog. During the pick up process, they took the time to explain how everything worked and helped us understand how to go about everyday things with our puppy.

Kevlar K9 Academy is hands down the best training experience we’ve had! The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and truly passionate about helping both dogs and their owners succeed. Our pup made amazing progress — not just in obedience, but in overall confidence and behavior. Highly recommended. My seven-month-old XL Bully, Diesel, recently completed the 20-day board and training program. He is a high-energy breed that loves to play, but previously struggled with understanding his own strength, particularly when interacting with children. We are extremely pleased with the significant progress he has made. I look forward to our future walks and outings with my newly behaved companion.

We brought our Rottweiler puppy, Pico, to Riley and Rustin at Kevlar K9 Academy when he was about 4 ½ – 5 months old, and after just one month with them the transformation has been amazing. Pico now heels politely on walks, and his sit, down, stay, break, and place commands are rock-solid—even with distractions. Riley and Rustin’s clear instruction and hands-on coaching have helped us understand how to work with Pico, not just what to make him do. They tackled typical Rottie stubbornness head-on, giving us practical tools to redirect any pushy or reactive moments before they escalate. Communication was great from day one: weekly progress updates, videos, and plenty of time for our questions so we could keep the training consistent at home. I brought my 1 year old STUBBORN German shepherd in for the 10 day board and train. From the beginning Riley was extremely communicative and helpful about the process. We did a consultation a couple days in advance so I could see the layout of where he was going to stay and how the process works. In that one hour Riley started to teach my dog a few commands. Even after that one, simple hour my dog was already completely different. I have taken him to several training sessions and nothing has worked like this one. It is evident that Riley and his staff truly care about what they do and love these animals. My reactive dog immediately felt comfortable in the environment and around the staff. Knowing that I would be sad leaving my boy, Riley sent me many pictures and updates on his progress. He mentioned that if my dog hasn’t met his standards after the 10 days that I paid for, then he would keep him for a couple of extra free of charge until he’s satisfied with my dogs behavior. I truly think that goes to show how much they care for these dogs and how genuine they are! I picked my boy up today and it’s safe to say that he has completely changed in ever best way. I seriously can’t thank Riley and his staff enough!
